sadly folks don't "over complicate it"

think about it: managers give specific instructions to 11 individuals to create a cohesive strategy. in order to convey this each player needs to know what they're expected to do. if you say something to them like "you're playing defense" you'd get innumerable interpretations of what that looks like. if you break it down by situation e.g. "when that happens do this" you begin to create roles. this approach allows for more specificity, structure and the shorthand becomes around "roles" and not "positions" although the latter doesn't lose it's usefulness either.

So you.

1. Get players who are decent.

2. Coach them.

Pretty sure that has happened since the dawn of time.

Hart told Stones come Man City, now they getting rid of him, what a prat he must feel especially if Hart himself ends up at our place!
I would ignore that, Stones wanted to get away from Everton, probably for money for himself and his agent. He could hardly say that publicly, of course there is the attraction of CLfootball as well and they should alse be title contenders . He hardly needed Hart to sell the club to him.
Last year he couldn't wait to get to Chelsea and now City.
Hart has known for a long time that he wasn't the type of keeper Guardiola wanted and probably knew he would be forced out.
I think he may go on loan for a season hoping that the football Guardiola intends playing just may not work in the premiership and his stay may not last beyond a season or two....he could well be right.
The suggestion that the goalkeeper acts as an extra ball playing defender and players like John Stones insisting on playing out from the back every time may not work as well in England as other places.

hopefully not too busy with our new defensive shape, and williams in the side!

stekelenberg did great, but that was just one game. Hart has done that and more on a way more consistent basis.
Yes in a billionaire side who's attack was their best defence you are comparing apples with pears - Hart was great when younger mistakes are creeping into his game - his distribution is poor, he's that good the first thing the new city Manager does is drop him so he's OK for us on top wages, as I said as long as it does not spoil our ambitions on the outside ten other players!

sorry but no. I've seen him do it at Birmingham, i've seen him do it at city where they didn't have that defense, and i've seen him do it at the champions league, which is the highest levels.

I think you're doing him a massive disservice for what ever reason.

He on his way to the continent anyway as I stated yes he was brilliant at Birmingham, alls I fear is even on loan it may drain our wage budget the rest of my comments about Hart are toungue in cheek alls I am pointing out don't need him if it's detrimental to signing a striker or a playmaker their the positions we are so desperate to fill ATM!

agree to disagree mate.

Yes but we don't know the budget for new signings do we ?
We have been linked to many stars - Hart has stated its a 12 month loan deal ?
It's just media talk if he joins then let's see;)
we don't, but i also don't think budget is really a problem for us.

That's the war chest empty then no it's a disaster if true but it's Joey Barton remember never got one prediction correctlol
Sorry Joey but who the hell knows how deep the so called "war chest" is? If he's wanted by Koeman we will sign him

No mate, it's a new game now, they have 22 footballers on the pitch, 11 in each team, and they have to put the ball in the oppositions net to score a goal. At the end of the match whoever has scored the most wins, unless they score the same when it's called a draw. The referees are still useless and the linesmen are now called assistant referees.....totally different game.........

Well if Koeman wants him we have not made one enquiry as yet, my worry is when we fail to get the players who we need he will be a deadline day desperation signing to appease fans!
Thats if he not chosen to go elsewhere like over the park or sevillia who are in the champions league like!
