McAlenys race was ran years ago, he is a decent operator who will find his level and enjoy a decent career, like Nick Chadwick and Phil Jevons did. However he isnt going to contribute anything to us so why are we still paying him a wage when we can get him to a lower league club and he can get on with building himself a career instead of playing reserve team football?

Think I have mentioned the first teamers I would get rid of in the deadwood thread - namely McGeady Niasse and Kone. Think McCarthy should be sold for decent money and Cleverley should go for anything over 7 mill which I think we should be able to get just to boost someone elses homegrown quota list. Would personally keep gibbo for cup games as a bit of experience playing next to the youth.
.....not sure what that means, I presume you're saying we would be entitled to a fee because we brought him through the ranks. I'd have thought if we don't renew he can negotiate his own deal with a new club but I'm probably wrong.

Put it this way if you were sitting there on 5k a week at everton knowing that if you went anywere else you will probably at best get 1k a week (league 1 standard). A bad move here or there and he ends up at tranmere on 300 quid a week.
