I've never seen him play and never heard his name until mentioned today.

For that reason he must be absolutely crap and I don't want him and anything over 15.74m would be an absolute disaster.

he's one of those tall lanky defenders i presume? They tend to struggle against the pacey midgets in the spanish league. The same way that those strikers struggle with the physicality over here.

Someone like mertesacker would really struggle in that league and although the teams who have a similar striker do him in this league, a lot of them struggle against those physical defenders, in this league.

i just presumed he was tall. I have no idea if i've seen him before or not, pretty sure i have, but his name is too long. I'd love us to have an absolute monster of a centre back who'll just bully absolute pansys like sturridge.

Get a nice speedster in at the back as well to compensate

Hard to judge a CB from spain... Massive emphasis on ball playing CB's which is why he didn't suite Valencia from what I gather..

On the contrary Otamendi looked boss in Spain but doesn't suit English football, a bit like Pique..

Mustafi and Koldrup obviously didn't suit our league, whereas Jagielka Probably wouldn't get near a decent La Liga side..

Different qualities suit different leagues, Abdennour obviously some really good qualities as he was very highly regarded at Monaco and looked good at UCL level..

Koeman/Walsh obviously know and have watched a lot more of him than any of us. If they think the way we play will suit his qualities more than Valencia and we can get performances like he put in at Monaco out of him then I am fully behind them with this move!
