Loan with a view to buy would be great. Stickleback has exceeded all expectation though and I wouldn't be distraught to see us buy a top CB, CM and Striker instead. Mental what having a keeper who leaves his line can do to ones confidence.

I'd have him, but don't think he's the best we could get, or as good as most people (England fans in the main) think she is. A loan would be good as need more time to see how good/consistent Stek will be before knowing if it would be worth signing him permanently.

I agree with you mate, I think it will come down to the new owners though. If they really are trying to build something I think they will try and sign a marquee keeper if it is something that's plausible in the time left before the window shuts. I suppose under Martinez I'd have been happy with him, so for that alone I wouldn't be to disheartened if the window shut and we'd spent well in other areas but this is the start of a new era so let's dream big haha. It's probably a sign of the shift in expectation that a good solid keeper (so far in his games for us) isn't enough anymore

There's a reason City want rid. For the price we'd have to pay why aren't we looking at the keeper's City are looking at?
Hart isn't a terrible keeper...but no way on Earth should we be looking at spending big on him...far bigger priorities

And he is at the very top of the cockwomble list for me

Well we're back up to 10 GKs at 21 and under , including the on loan Griffiths, plus Stick and Robles it's a bizarre policy really , I would much rather see us going for quality not quantity . Hart on loan would be a great move in terms of increasing the quality .

The prospect of Joe Hart playing in goals for us, does excite me. He's a proven goal keeper who's got loads of experience in all honesty probably is really only about to enter his peak. Is a Premier League winning, seasoned Champions League goal keeper who is England's number one, I think anyone who thinks he's no good seriously need their eyes checked. In saying that I think many people don't like him as a bloke which then makes them very negative towards his goal keeping abilities.

However what doesn't sit well with me is the cost it would take to bring him over to the club, he's going to ask for 150k a week, far more than any current player, he'd be asking for a huge signing on fee if he came here and so would his agent. City won't let him go on the cheap either, especially after we held on so much to get the right fee for Stones. I cannot help but question whether he's worth the amount of money it'd take to bring him to the club.

not sure Barca's keepers would come to us...

Miles better than anything we currently have. Yes

Simply for this reason.

I am not a great fan of Joe Hart but yes, he would be an improvement on Joel and although my early impressions of Stek are positive, I would have Hart before taking a chance on him in the medium term.

Maybe he needs bumping back down to reality, as he had potential to be a hue player for England and City.

But now he's just calmatous as any keeper in the premier league. Was it Norwich at home last season where he fumbled the ball into his own net?

But for me, I don't want him.

I would accept him on loan.

Any big money purchase would be insane given his recent clangers.

Thought Stickelback did well yesterday and deserves a crack.
