You aren't getting my point. I know we can't sign established top class players.

However we could sign younger top class players if we offer them the same kind of money they would get at the likes of Chelsea and Utd due to the fact we can offer them game time to develop. We would only be a stepping stone for them but if we bought a lot of them over a short period of time they may come good before we had to sell.

Basically do a Martinez but instead of looking to buy one top class young player every 3 years like Rom buy two or 3 of them every year. By the 3rd year when the first ones were starting to hit their peak we would have a young team capable of breaking the top 4.

This strategy we are on now is running to stand still.

Look at Spurs, their best players are all very young.
 

What if.....we have already got Bolasie and Kone sewn up (just not announced) and Koeman was talking about bringing in 3 or 4 "new" players?
That would then mean we would reach the magic numbers of between 6-8 that many on here say we need.
Just an idea.

Lukaku had previously been on load at west brom, eto stayed with us for literally a few months, mirallas has been very inconsistent and would hardly have called a marquee

Or what if we go into the first gamecock the season with no recognised no 1.
Selling a potentially world class centre half and replacing with a seasoned professional, a centre mid from a relegated team and your only real quality forward out with injury and having a bit of a sulk.

Apart from that I'm very optimistic truly think we will win on Saturday.

Disagree. Signing proven talent for an immediate pump up the table...even if we fall short of CL or EL is first and foremost the most important thing about THIS SEASON. If we can achieve a higher place in the table and show that we are progressing forward, we may well find it easier to get deals over the line.

Martinez's strategy was a risky one. I could see what he was efforting to do, but in the end it is a flawed strategy because there is far too much inconsistency from a team full of young players who are still learning their trade. For example I expect Williams to improve us from a defensive perspective immediately. Stones is still a project. Barkley, Rom, and Del all suffered through huge peaks and valleys in their game. You will see a more consistent team when you are playing with established players.

get your head out the clouds FFs Martinez had 3 years to ruin us koemans had ? 2 months ? DONT need a "marquee" signing. Which "marquee" signing have the RS made ??

Lukaku was the only marquee signing. The only way someone his quality would ever come to us is if they were young and needed game time.

We need to poach these players before the top European clubs get them.

A few have gone this window.
