Again...we cannot force people to sign on the dotted line. Even if we sign a player like Carvalho or Witsel there is no guarantee that they'd be any good in the Premier League. I think it's very obvious we are going after proven PL players for immediate movement up the table. Which in and of itself will increase our revenue going into next season
I mean...how many people would have thought players like Huth or Morgan would be the starting center backs for the winners of the Premier League?
You aren't getting my point. I know we can't sign established top class players.
However we could sign younger top class players if we offer them the same kind of money they would get at the likes of Chelsea and Utd due to the fact we can offer them game time to develop. We would only be a stepping stone for them but if we bought a lot of them over a short period of time they may come good before we had to sell.
Basically do a Martinez but instead of looking to buy one top class young player every 3 years like Rom buy two or 3 of them every year. By the 3rd year when the first ones were starting to hit their peak we would have a young team capable of breaking the top 4.
This strategy we are on now is running to stand still.
Look at Spurs, their best players are all very young.
