Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Reminds me of Xmas circa '88 in my house. I was desperate for some "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" figures, but they were practically impossible to get hold of. Then I heard that my nan had told my mum that she had managed to get hold of some off a stall on the local market. She was so excited that she had found me some, and so was I. I was absolutely made up. Well, I was until I actually opened up the present Xmas morning to discover that they were "Adolescent Deformed Karate Terapins". I had to try REALLY hard to not show my disappointment bless her.
Best thing this thread has offered all summer

I do love whoever runs the Everton Twitter.

Constantly tweeting out utter utter rubbish all day causing fume among the Everton Twitter Clique with 'ANNOUNCE....' type responses.

It's a bit "funny" that anyone and everyone knew that the market for Premier League players would be absolutely insane since Mane signed for them lot. Everyone thought 'get much better value for players outside the Premier League'. And every single player we seem to be on the verge of signing are players inside the Premier League for far more than they are worth.

The one year we are flush with cash, the market inside the league goes bonkers and we stick to only players inside the league.

15 mil for IBE kicked it off for me. When that happened I though 'Right, this is gonna be weird window....and a MASSIVE swizz'.

One would think there would be a plan - a reason for this methodology??

The past few seasons some people have said 'we need more options for the left hand side'. We've got rid of Pienaar and Osman leaving Mirallas as our only option there. The board are willing to sanction money for a strong quick left sided player proven in the prem yet apparently we should now 'swerve' him.

Bolasie has some pace and strength to boot. I think we might be seeing him in the same role Geri has played in pre-season, if we can just get some soul juice and effort the likes of Lennon from him. He's played striker for Crystal Palace before, too. Fee is insane, but i don't believe there's much wrong with the product.

Kone's role in the game against Southampton down there last season which we won 3-0. Left wing, drifting in centrally and supporting Lukaku as well, enabling Baines to come forward into the space left behind (don't think Baines played that day though).

Never really been a massive fan of Bolasie but think he would be perfect for this and a massive upgrade over Kone in this role (Lukaku seemed to thrive playing with Kone as well even though Kone was rubbish).

Fee is a bit steep, but like you say can cover striker too. Can definitely live with this and be interested to see how Koeman uses him.
