I think so too.

The feeling I'm starting to get is that while Moshiri is willing to spend big in the transfer market at some point, there's been a gradual realisation that we have to improve our standing in the league in order to get the most out of spending big. That's why I think we've gone from Koulibaly to Wiliams and from Carvalho to Gueye.

This is just me speculating however.

No complaints from me on this one, id expect should Stones then be sold we will bring in another younger lad anyway giving us 4 first team defenders in case of injuries to either side.

Age isn't too much of a concern here, we signed Distin at the exact same age and he gave us great service up till Martinez' 2nd season. Proven premier league quality who will bring genuine leadership to a defence that needs it.

Hope he does not end up like Slaven Bilic when we signed him a a seasoned pro - he hardly featured!

Nah very different people and stages of their career. I'll never forget that bog eyed scruff for what he done to Everton.
