Everton Transfer Thread 2016

When the Arabs came to Man City, they were a nothing club. They immediately signed one of the perceived best players in the world in Robinho within hours, gazumping Chelsea in the process.

We, on the other hand, have done nothing. Which is increasingly suggesting the investment from Moshiri is generally not going to get the job done. Arguably, he's arrived at the wrong time.
Robinho flopped and who else did they sign that window?, people going way overboard here

I can safely say Ronald Koeman would not have spunked £13m on Oumar Niasse.

So no, not the same as the old 'boss', although that word loosely applies to the embarrassment that was Martinez.
Hi, was referring to the new ownew and lack of activity. Koeman huge upgrade on Martinez

In all seriousness, we're not big enough at the moment to attract world-class players.

A top half finish next season is a must, and we have the players that can do that already.
Rubbish. We won't progress without better players. The ones we have are either leaving or getting older. It's about money. Haggling over Mata's fee or Bony's wages, resigning Gibson and taking a GK on loan doesn't look like a team with money to spend.

I said 'perceived best'. He obviously wasn't, but it was the statement that mattered. Instantly, City meant business. And that's the point. Do Everton 'mean business' in the same way right now? Not at all.

They signed him the moment they arrived by the way - the last day of the transfer window, within hours. The fact they got Robinho done in itself was startling.

Where is the proof we are haggling over someone's wages?

There's no proof of that. In fact, there's no proof we've bid for absolutely anyone.

When has there ever been proof in any window?

You don't know it's happened until it's happened

But sources connected both to the club and elsewhere seem to suggest that we've offered him big money and he, for whatever reason, hasn't taken it yet

If that's the case, then I don't know what more the club could do

Ive never played FIFA and when i have time i play FM with fake players starting in the lowest league.

Who would you like as a GK?

For me, Leno or Rico..
So players who were never on our radar and probably never have been, are unproven in this league and will take a year or so to adapt, probably, to add to the fact that our new boss has been in charge for about a day.

Yeah I'd rather trust Joel and Koeman really, at least for another year.

It's mad, people say there is no proof but yet then say how happy they are that the club conducts things without any information leaking, can't win

Yeh he is mate.

Suppose it's just opinions. Whenever I've seen him play for Sporting he's been class. Though I do agree he can be a bit flappy at times - reminds me of De Gea before he became world class - a very good shot stopper but yeh maybe not cut out for the Prem. Do think he'd be a decent acquisition though

Top notch but who knows about crosses....
