I disagree although I'm not sure Carvalho would be a good partner for him. Someone like Kante or even Besic would probably be better.

His mentality isn't there yet, too scared to take a hit or put graft in.

I think regardless of what happens now, the opportunity to make a statement early has been well and truly missed, and we're probably looking at B tier signings. Furthermore, the clubs we hoped to compete with have wrapped big players up early and look miles ahead of us now.

We can play the blame game as much as we want, but ultimately we just don't know what happened. All I will say is that if we end this window with a negative net spend and only the likes of Stekelenburg as incomings, things will turn toxic quickly for Moshiri. I don't think that will happen, but as said, regardless now we're looking at a window of missed opportunity unless something drastic happens quickly.

is he the Portugal keeper? Thought he was absolutely turd tbh except for the final. Was flapping at all kinds in all of the group games and I watched all of their games.

Pure speculation, Citeh are as silent as we are over deals. Any one found blabbing to the press would have to answer to the Arab bosses so in my book its crap. if it does happen it will be because Koeman wants it but I think Bony is about 5 yards too slow for what we need and at the end of the day we are in the driving seat

That's what gets me. There was talk at the beginning where we serious like Stoke's chairman questioning if we had the money etc. If we were serious we needed to come out and show that and start the ball rolling and that would have then attracted players.

Now everyone is beginning to question that and surely that will just make getting those players more difficult.

If we actually have money I think we have gone about it the wrong way and instead had a bit of a nose bleed when it came time to spend in this inflated market.

What happened in the past bears no relation to what is happening presently, unless the suggestion is that Moshiri has invested all that money into the club and is happy to have no influence whatsoever in how the club is run going forward.

This is exactly the point I've been banging on about and everyone keeps missing.

We may well end the window happy with what we've brought in but the chance to make a statement to the rest of the league and allow the time for players to settle in before the start of the season is gone.

As it happens we've got a very favourable fixture run at the start of the season but the excuses for a stumble are already made.

no, the suggestion is new players need time to settle, to better increase the chance of the team starting the season well.
