Yer im not overly keen on witsel tbh its why i wasnt caught up in the hype yesterday at one point in time he could have been great for us but i dont think he is better than barry the only thing he has over garbar is his age

In saying that i can be swayed i didnt want koeman and ive come around... If all that hype was about missing mata yesterday i would have been well aboard the fume train lol

Felt pretty certain we'd wrap this up yesterday, seems his agent's still angling for bigger, oh well we will sign him I still think and if not life goes on doesn't it , he's good but not great enough for how his agent plays games, which is why teams like Juve, Milan and Napoli have all tried and failed to get him and he's still stuck in Russia

Created 5th most chances in the Belgium team.

And regarded as one of their most important players by people that watch them regularly

One of the greatest difficulties is the way Witsel has structured his management/agent team. His Father is his agent, then he's appointed a number of intermediaries to represent his interests in different countries. So effectively you have a group of people authorised to act on his behalf whose interests are diametrically opposed. For example Marseglia his Italian intermediary does not want him to come to the UK as he receives no benefit from that arrangement. Hence Witsel's name appearing in every publication in Italy, linked with every club and ludicrous stories such as his wife demanding he plays in Italy.

Witsel is in danger of over-egging his pudding - does he want to have a successful career in the most visible, competitive and popular league in the world or be commoditised and sold to the highest bidder/favourite contact of an Italian intermediary?

We'll know sooner than later.

He sounds like a beaut. Swerve him.

Cheers mate, hopefully you putting your head aboce the parapet again will not attract the bile from all the meffs on here! Whether your sources are accurate or not, your input is always balanced and interesting! For those of us with functioning brain cells, please continue to pass on what you get! :)

Sounds like he's got all sorts of people telling him different things. Surely though, his options are running thin now?
Zenit don't seem keen to deal with Italian teams.

To be honest it sounds like we should be avoiding him. If he doesn't want to come then fine leave him to his life in Russia. We've enough gobby Belgians in the squad. I'd much prefer we focus on bringing mata in than waste our time on witsel if he doesn't want to come.
