I just don't want him anywhere near the team to be honest, he's so limited and he limits us. Moyes needs to get it sorted really, if your going to play 4-5-1 week in week out then please, please, please play attacking minded fullbacks.

If he want to progress then Hibbert should be third choice, if that.

As for the game, the football is improving, we are keeping the ball and actually stringing passes together. But in terms of creativity we are ordinary and predictable. Poor end product, no pace and no movement. It's a bit worrying really, teams know they can sit back and frustrate us.

Heitinga, Neill, Fellaini and Pienaar all played well. I thought Yakubu was alot better, he brings far more to the table than Cahill.

Great to see James Vaughan coming back, he changed the game really and should have been on 10 minutes earlier. He could be a real asset for us, because he's capable of exploiting the space in behind with his pace and aggression.

And Phil Neville, who's composure and leadership skills are needed at the moment. He's a far better footballer than people give him credit for to be honest.

Well played lads...amazing feeling having to switch the tv off with a smile

Positives:

1.Clean sheet(well done howard,heitinga in particular)

2. James Vaughan ( take a bow lad...extremely happy for you..more of the same now)

3. Yakubu looked sharp

4. Bilyaletdinov looked much like the player we know he is with great vision of passing, composure

6. Neville back

7. Pienaar gets a well deserved goal

Negetives:

1. Cahill looked bad after that ankle knock, looks like 3 weeks minimum

2. Does Leighton Baines really need to take every corner and most of the freekicks, hardly any corner was impressive. Give Billy a chance he has a good left foot

3. Hibbert's crossing atimes was poor again

4. Centermidfield needs to control the game more

5. Defense switched off a few times..Nugent getting into that position was more scary than a few scenes from "paranormal activity"

well done lads(y)..keep it up. Get well soon Cahill and get a good rest before you start banging them again!

that is a poor post. honestly.

we were below burnley in the table before the game.

we have drawn against teams such as stoke and wolves at goodison.

we were in dire need of a result.

it was a genuine GOD IS GREAT result, regardless of the opposition.

we are up to 11th and now we can look to get out of this mess we are in.

i of course do not need remind you how priceless these points were because you are all too well aware of february's fixtures.

roll on the great EF of C.

All true. I'm just pointing out the last time we got a bit of momentum going we started patting ourselves on the back way too soon, and then things promptly fell apart.
We still nowhere near where we should be. Moyes is still playing 4-5-1 at home. Today was our first clean sheet in god know how long. We missed a lot of chances, and still our best players are nowhere near return from their long term injuries. There's a hell of a lot of work still to do.

My Ratings.

Howard - 6 (scary moments, shocking kick outs)

Hibbert - 7 (looked good going forward, but still was left exposed by Eagles too often)
Neill - 6 (not his position, so it's a kind of get rid policy)
Heitinga - 8 (rock, solid and sexy at the same time)
Baines - 7 (despite the barracking he got from the mindless idiots behind me, he did well)

Pienaar - 7 (would have been a 6 but for the goal, looked to lack some confidence, but I'm sure it will return)
Billy - 5 (needs to really get a grip on the game)
Osman - 4 (just not good enough, and it gets proven time after time, Moyes obviously shows too much loyalty with him though, when I thought he was almost the worse midfielder on the pitch)
Fellaini - 8 (collosus again from the big man)

Cahill - 3 (moaned constantly, and failed to win enough headers for me. I would rather see him play the whistle more and just cut out the moaning to the ref)

Yak - 6 (missed a sitter, but looked fairly useful)

Neville - 7 (felt at ease when he was back on the pitch)
Vaughan - 8 (came on and did what nobody else was doing. Good job)

You didn't think Osman played decent today? I thought he's looking much better in the middle.

I don't feel enough people praise Heitinga's forearms - they're so strong and smooth.

I thought it was a typical Osman performance. He builds up well and then falls apart when we need him to stay strong. He's just not good enough, but even in a full strength squad - Moyes will always play him.

I would have liked to have seen Billy in the middle instead of Osman.

I feel this is a fair summaration
