Bryan Oviedo

Am agreeing. Then again, I had Gibson in that same category, and am still trying to wrap my head around that one today.

Gibson I understand more than keeping Oviedo from the point of view we have a thin squad for now. Once we - hopefully - start spending I can see him being sold.

I love Oviedo as a guy but Garbutt is better than him already and we don't need 3 left-backs.

Garbutt had a gash loan spell. Didn't watch him but some of the Fulham fan's comments weren't great so to say he's better than Oviedo seems a bit daft.
Oviedo had a bad run of form as did most the team as well as being played out of position. Think it's pretty shortsighted of fans to be jumping on his back saying he's not good enough all of a sudden.

Some people have been wanting Oviedo gone for years mate

Prior to that run he had in the team in 13/14, including the goal against United, many people had already written him off and declared him not good enough. That run proved he was indeed good enough, and people have been desperate for him to fail since because he made mugs out of all of them

Oviedo's problem is similar to that of Gibson, in that he's had injury problems

The difference is that Oviedo is a model pro and a thoroughly decent bloke who'd run through brick walls for Everton at a moment's notice

Oviedo not only can play at LB but I also think he'd do well at LM if given the chance

His versatility is his strength. Every team needs a utility player, and that's what Oviedo is to us

We'd be silly to let him go at this point

He deserves at least a pre-season under Koeman to show the new Boss what he's capable of

Agree spot on.

His poor form came when he played at right back. Coincidently, as a team, our best spell of form last season was when he was in the side at left back.

He's very adequate back up. Garbutt hasn't proved himself at all.

If somebody comes in for him, he may leave. If not I'm not unhappy at all if he stays. It will be a toss-up between him and Garbutt, though, of that I'm pretty certain

Everton fans are fickle and cruel.

He's never managed a run in the team after that shocking injury. Played at RB because of an inept manager. Anyone remember Coleman playing LB? Looked like a Sunday league player. Not every fullback is Lahm.

If he goes then he goes but there's decent player in there and a top bloke. Needs a run of games at LB whether that's here or elsewhere. Either way I wish him the best.

People have such short memories. I imagine these are also some of the people who think we'll be bidding for Jordi Alba in August...

He's good for back up and always offers something from left back - either offensively or defensively.

Now, he at least gets the pre-season to show RK what he can do. If Koeman doesn't believe that he can play a major part in his plans, then he'll likely be moved on.

Yep - and when he had that this season he played superbly and we looked a tad more defensively solid (albeit for a very short-lived period)
