I think this is the funniest thing the club has ever done. The sheer timing to announce it as BREAKING NEWS as well. Glorious. Want to buy whoevers idea it was a pint.

OK, but look at his behaviour since the incident, maybe it was the much needed (albeit it long overdue) kick up the arse he needed. He's played reasonably well towards the end of the season and is regaining fitness. What better incentive but to give him a new contract for trying to turn his career around?

Very decent of you chap, but I'm not the forgiving type myself.... and neither would anyone else be, if this were not a celebrity athlete we were discussing. Can't see the local supermarket manager being welcomed back to work with open arms after getting caught ploughing his motor into a petrol station while pissed as a fart.

i reckon...

moshiri - yo koe, you wanna keep this gibson chap?

koeman -ello moshi, He was their best player the last time I played them, could be a good squad option.

moshiri - looks like a useless drunk to me, but ive got money to burn ..shall i give him a contract as apparently another club wants him

koeman(finishes 5th margarita) - yeah, why not! hahahah ..hic

fixed it for ya, as they say

Irrespective of his occupation I'm happy to give people more than one chance in life, even if you aren't. It's to your detriment if that is genuinely your view.

If you actually stop to think about this logically its actually makes perfect sense.

We have Besic, Barry, Jimmy Mac and Ross who can play there. Barry is coming to the end of his career and may or may not be up to 38+games a year. Besic is injury prone and inconsistent, Jimmy Mac has had his injuries and fatiuqe. Ross's powers can be used elsewhere.

Davies, Ledson, Walsh we suspect will all develop into starters for the first team but are prob of playing a full season next year.

So why sign a big money player for a central midfield slot and stop a pathway for the rich talent we have coming through there. Makes perfect sense to me to keep someone who knows the set up and run of the place and still has a bit in the tank as an insurance.

Actually makes perfect sense and encourages me about the clubs/managers emphasis on youth.

Yeah bit of a strange one. He does have ability though. Surely whoever our next manager is (Koeman I assume..) wanted him to stay otherwise its an odd thing to do.

*shrugs*

Each to their own mate... I'm not here to validate other people, just as they are not here to validate me.

I'm more concerned with the footballing aspects of the deal anyways - I don't think this will turn out to be a wise move on the pitch, as I don't think we'll see him on the pitch enough to warrant the contract. But I'll be happy if I'm wrong.
