For the 1st time ive heard on TS and Bbc 5L class Everton as a sleeping giant, a team thats won 9 titles, won more the City and Chelsea combinded, walking around Goodison you can feel the history, that was the presenters not people phoning in. So far so good Mr Moshiri

I heard that as well, the guy the replied to was a right clown, made out he knew all about football ...etc but had no idea about who Everton are apart from the last few seasons.

Seems Moshiri had a plan and its working and getting Koeman wasnt just about getting a manager but about improving our image in the media and in general.

@The Esk has stated at the beginning of our search that koeman was his No. 1 target. Whether you want koeman or not, it should give evertonians belief that moshiri (against the odds judging by pundits and media's perceptions of our chances) has landed his no.1 target. The man in business is successful and dare I say ruthless, if he wants to conclude a deal be it in business or football he gets it done. Everton fans should welcome this desire and drive that the man has and as @The Esk has stated ( with his plans for the club) I feel this to be the start of our journey back to the top table of football in this country. Next step, get monchi please farhad!!!

Impressed thus far with the Koeman appointment, could have gone with a short term Mourhino, a sleep at the wheel Pellegrini or a ten year less developed De Boer, rather then Koeman.

I've always felt he's exactly what we need now as a team and a club in terms of skill set, approach and profile. Very well thought out decision of a candidate that ticks all the boxes for our current needs at the right time.

Very good start Mr Moshiri.

Slow down there:)

We're witnessing a new Everton, although to be more accurate a return to the old Everton which achieves what it sets out to achieve and is prepared to pay the costs of doing so.

The last two and a half decades of making do, of getting by, of survival on limited means is over. We will not suddenly become the richest club in the Premiership, far from it, but we will be true to our past and true to our ambitions and we have a major shareholder/ owner-to-be who is prepared to back us to achieve those ambitions.

We've paid off an under-achieving manager before he could inflict too much damage (we might have done it earlier but for the legacy of the old power base, now rendered impotent), we've sought and obtained the manager who Moshiri believes is the right person at a cost that would make the previous regime wince.

The next steps are to secure the DoF appointment and start the recruitment process for summer acquisitions - we should all be very positive - remember "be careful what you wish for" - that thinking has gone, we've a great time ahead.

That's a very nice way to finish the day. Positivity and Everton seem strange bedfellows but I love it.

Speaking of bed goodnight to you all.

That's really well put Esk. Can't help being infected with your enthusiasm. Thanks for everything your doing! It's been a long time since Everton have made me feel so optimistic. Really hope we get a good DoF in to complete the package.

Does anyone know the situation with kitbag ?...was in Liverpool 1 shop on Wednesday looking round and was slagging off kitbag to 1 of the girls who said that they haven't been using kitbag for about a month ?said we. We're getting supplied by some1 called fanatics or something like that but wasn't sure if she meant the whole lot or just the fashion side of it ?

Oh Esk. You do like to tease us. ;)

Great start by Mr Moshiri - let us all hope that he is the leader that we need and deserve. The initial signs are certainly more than promising.

On a personal note many thanks for keeping the masses informed.

Kitbag was taken over by a US company called Fanatics.

Deal runs to end of May 2019 but I suspect will go at end of 2016/17 season at latest.

Bill Kenwright should wince. He was never rich enough to be chairman or own the shares he did in Everton football club.

Now we have a forward looking owner. With resources to match.

It is an exciting time. But there are huge risks for us. Moshiri at the moment seems to be spending like a drunken sailor. But whose money is he spending, his own or the club's? Because if these bold moves result in two more midtable finishes his business advisers mayturn around and say ,.'youre haemorrhaging money here, and have got sod all to show for it.'
Will he then stick around cos he loves football and Everton?
Or will he ruthlessly cut his losses, leaving the club with a gigantic debt?

Yes moshiri will put some of his own wealth into the 'project' but look at the increased TVs deals that take effect this season.
