ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I'm sure what pisses off the majority of us in this whole sorry affair is, once again, the 'professionally offended', who have no personal connection, yet love to pat themselves on the back with 'Remember that famous Lilt job dere mate, best fans in der werld #FamousLilt #JFT96'

Does anyone REALLY think the relatives of one of the deceased, who have conducted themselves with dignity, would start ordering cans of Lilt? Or indeed plastering everywhere with JFT slogans? Especially now. It's pathetic. And sadly typical of that shower. My contempt for them just continues to grow.

To be honest the thing that pisses me off the most is knowing that the mutant who had the t-shirt on wont get what he really deserves.

Sub human pond scum.

While not excusing his actions in any way, shape or form, I do wonder what has catalysed such hatred especially with Hillsborough.

He's obviously a low life and deserves the full punishment through the courts, but you'd expect something to have caused this.

That or they're unhinged.

There are evertonians who post on these forums that have been wrongfully arrested and suffered serious injury as a result of the behaviour of isolated RS fans but they certainly don't behave like this disgusting creature .

I think what's caused it is lack of education , lack of empathy and a sad pathetic empty hateful life . Other than those who've committed the kind of serious crimes we're all aware of There are very few people in this world that are beneath contempt but this creature is almost certainly one of them.

The answer to that is the arrogance/jealousy of Manchester United fans mate. In many ways they are a mirror image of Kopites in the way they distort/ignore all evidence put in front of them and think hey are above the rules. Most United fans fate scousers and associate LFC with the City. Unfortunately their hatred goes so deep that it outweighs any feelings of sympathy people feel towards victims of a brutal death and 27 years of media cover ups.

It is funny really. A lot of United fans try to jump on board with our hatred of Liverpool. I have never gone along with it. They are insanely jealous and angry towards them. I don't watch them and get insanely jealous or wish death upon them etc. I just think they are a bit pathetic and let the City down sometimes. It's odd really as of the two clubs you'd imagine we should probably be more angry and jealous and they would be more condescending given what we've both won over the last 30 years. I think we hate Liverpool FC in different ways and I can never get on board with them.

What's interesting is what United and Liverpool share is the belief that LFC are a massive club who are relevant. I don't and most Evertonians don't. We know they are not a Real Madrid and see through their nonsense far more. Most grievance we have is despite the fact of them being rubbish, we still haven't beaten them much!

I think United have cultivated an approach that is hateful and unhinged and bears no resemblance to reality. Liverpool are a massive club, United are the great rivals for the biggest derby in the world. Alongside this belief is the idea that they are guilty of crimes that they are victims of. All of the above is fantasy but I wouldn't expect it to go away any time soon. It's sad and pathetic.

With the landlord, people wanted to join the mob without knowing the facts. I guess now it's could publicity for him.

This twitter mob justice thing leaves me a little uneasy, why are people joining the crowd? Do they feel strongly about it or is just to feel apart of something and get a dozen or so retweets?

People where praising themselves for their 'work' lauding it as a victory for justice, well in terms of the last few months getting this attention seeker arrested is not a victory at all.

This was an extreme example of the twitter mob at work because the fella involved was a genuine loon. Other recent examples include that Chelsea lawyer who went on a rant about scousers after they lost 3-1 to Liverpool and our very own Fanta scruff.

The lawyer lost his job and someone found out where Fanta scruff worked and went to bother him. Is that really necessary?

Jon Ronson talks about being publicly shamed and how male victims have their jobs targeted in an attempt to get some some sacked and as a resulted emasculated.

Anyway...

Kopites are gobshites.

I have to disagree mate. If you are a lawyer who wants to go on about people being scum on social media don't be surprised if people use social media to get back at you. If you want to go mouthing off on TV don't expect to get some back. If you go out wearing obnoxious and offensive T-Shirts don't be surprised to get some back as well.

Social media isn't to blame, the actions of idiots are to blame initially. If you can't take it back, don't give it out. What isn't on is mouthing off all over social media and then whining when people have a go back at you.

As someone who comes from Worcestershire I can assure you that I have absolutely no inferiority complex when it comes to Scousers, neither does anyone else I know.

Agreed that he deserves everything he's got, as his Facebook account seems quite vile and obviously the tshirt is extremely vile too. However even I have attracted the great swarm on twitter for suggesting that inconveniencing local businesses because of one lone idiot is not at all smart, because of that suggestion I apparently find this guys actions acceptable? Yeah, great logic there twitterati.

I'm not quite in the mood to suffer fools gladly at this moment in time.

Ordering from local businesses is a bit snide. I think people should have paid for the orders in all honesty. I do think though, local businesses should be a bit smarter than allow people to "pay on delivery" over sites like just eat. To be honest if I was a business I would make it public we sent someone and use that as a marketing tool like the Pub have done, and it would be worth a lot more to them then a fivers worth of Lilt.

I don't agree with the strategy of involving businesses for the fella. However it's not really a comparable wrong doing.

I've been having a read of RAWK yesterday and I am amazed at just how clueless they are about the change that's occurring at Everton. It really hasn't started filtering through yet. They seem to think we are in for Stubbs, Moyes, Bruce etc and I think it will come as a huge shock who are next manager is to them. They genuinely can't seem to comprehend us getting a top manager.

What also makes me laugh is they are making jokes about us beating West Ham, Southampton & Leicester to the 7th place trophy! I haven't the heart to tell them;
a) That 7th is higher than they finished.
b) 2 of the 3 teams mentioned finished above 7th
c) One of them now has more Premier League wins than said European Royalty Liverpool.

I think they are the very definition of nuts. Even when they finish outside the top 7 they carry on like they came in the top 4 and wouldn't lower themselves to a 7th finish. They leave in a weird parallel world where real life events don't occur, what happens is the world according to Liverpool. Where finals equate to trophies. Where finishing 8th means you finished high than teams who finished above you and even won the league. I think this is why they are steadfast in their delusion that they are a big club now, because they have brainwashed themselves that 2 + 2=5. It is very hard to have any kind of rational and sensible debate with people who frankly need to be sectioned for insanity.

Next season we will try to go for 7th. However that will have to involve finishing outside of the top 7. Work that out #kopitelogic.

The media's branding of this game as the English Clasico is embarassing bordering on nauseating. Two mid table sides slugging it out in what has become one of the most boring fixtures in the calendar. Normally one of the team's completely roll over or it's a snore fest goalless draw. There hasn't been a decent evenly contested game that really meant something between those two in years. Best Derby currently in terms of excitement is probably the North London one, in terms of importance it has been the Tyne Wear of late in literally deciding relegation battles. The media can kid all they want but everyone knows that historically the Derby with the best atmosphere, most emotion round the game, most incident filled has been Everton Liverpool. It's a measure how far both teams have fallen though that rather than deciding leagues or trophies it's just jostling for a mid table slot. Sadly those balloons don't seem to realise where they are in the order of world football and still think they have a rivalry with Chelsea and City, and that Barcelona and Bayern are bothered when they are in the CL (the rare time this happens) in case they move ahead of their European cup total. Honestly couldn't make it up.

@catcherintherye

2 and 2 don't equal 5. It equals a post match celebration in front if the Kop after playing West Brom.

Something else about 'THAT' celebration for the draw with WBA. They are trying to take that celebration, linked arms towards the crowd as their own. They have genuinely stated that nobody else in the prem does it so that celebration style defines them and their togetherness and sense of family. They have also said that that as it was done in Germany it solidifies the links they have with the German footballing culture.

The “Klopp salute” is set dominate the Kop and Liverpool FC Main stand under new proposals from the club .

A planning application has been submitted to Liverpool city council for a giant poster showing the team, with arms raised and hand-in-hand, saluting LFC fans.

In March the Reds submitted a planning application for a new store facing onto Walton Breck Road.

The application references the “Bundesliga-style team celebration that Jurgen has introduced since his arrival; the squad with linked hands, arms aloft, acknowledging the fans in joint celebration”.

The application says: “The gesture presents a powerful expression of togetherness, unity and belonging and could easily be extended to encompass a wider range of LFC stakeholders and demographic groups – fans, LFC Ladies, supporter groups, local community, ethnicity, gender, disability etc.

“The sanguine image and ‘world family’ message should avoid any potential planning issues.

“No other Premier League club seems to use this style of post-match celebration; with the German connection in mind, LFC appears to have taken ownership in England.”

LFC said the images within the application are subject to change and only indicative of what it may look like.

The application is by Liverpool FC & Athletic Grounds Ltd and was submitted on May 27. No date has yet been set for when a decision will be made by council planners.

Under the proposals there will be self adhesive vinyls printed in full colour and applied to glazing panels and frame of the LFC store, Boot Room and ticket collection office.

According to a letter accompanying the application: “The “Look package” graphics artwork proposal reflects the vision of the Club for the stadium as a 365-days/year visitor destination drawing people into Anfield and acting as a catalyst to the regeneration of the wider area.

“The application proposes improvements to the appearance of the stadium from the public realm areas surrounding it.

“It is a common feature of sporting facilities to include such artwork and reflect the drama and purpose of the stadium use.”

The letter says: “The images may be amended and up-dated throughout their lifetime to reflect changes and the evolving nature of the football club (new players, memorable events etc).”

It adds: “The proposed artwork has been specifically positioned on elevations overlookingthe Fan Zone /public realm area and the commercial area of Walton Breck Road local centre. As such, there will be limited direct views of the artwork from residential properties.”

Dear me. What can you say about this? Can't believe we live in the same place at times. Where's that David France quote when you need it?
