Usmanov is probably quite happy with his 30% knowing that he is pole position if ever Kroenke wants to sell. He is also not stuck, as you suggest, because besides selling to the obvious person, he could offer his approx 18,000 shares to the Arsenal supporters, who I'm sure would love to get a piece of their club (and an invite to the AGM's). It's a rich mans game and any outcomes are possible, the only truism is that both Kroenke and Usmanov will remain extremely wealthy.......

There is the question that I'm sure @The Esk already considered that maybe like Moshiri:

does Usmanov want to be the 'silent' partner. Or does he want a seat on the board?

Kroneke has refused this outright.

That's why Moshiri had enough and went for pastures new where he could directly input affairs via his subordinate proxies

I speak from experience. Having numerous minor venture capital shareholdings. We expect a seat on the board in exchange for 10-49.9% shareholding and capital.

We don't expect full control. But we would not accept no voice on the board.

I can say this. I can imagine Usmanov is growing impatient. The question is fundamental:

Would he enjoy remaining at Arsenal?

Or would he enjoy and find more lucrative the investment opportunity that is Everton. And it's infrastructure project that is the Everton stadium?

:coffee:

Been told we are intending on purchasing Finch Farm asap and already bought the surrounding land next to parts of it for further development.

Great news if true, investments like this that won't necessarily grab headlines but will help the long term future of the club hugely. I could never get my head around Elstone's explanation of the benefits of selling Finch Farm and renting it back. Hopefully the club can also now arrange to pay some of the debts that have been hanging over it for years.

The supposition is that Usmanov is divesting from Arsenal and investing in Everton. I wrote at length yesterday about all the regulatory, tactical and strategic reasons why I don't believe that will happen.

I don't see any signs of impatience from Usmanov, he's been in this situation since 2011, and let it be remembered doubled his position in Arsenal in February of this year.

Had he been impatient and was minded to invest in Everton, the sensible strategy would have been for Usmanov to sell his R&W shares to Moshiri and acquire a major interest in Everton himself, probably with a member of his team taking a position on the board and for Moshiri to follow upon disposing of R&W. That would have been the clear advice they would have received from their advisors.

Now that didn't happen, and it didn't not happen because they thought it was a better idea for Moshiri to come to Everton first. It didn't happen because I don't believe that's his intent.

As I wrote in my original post, I don't need to "chill out" as I'm far from hysterical. Exactly the kind of thing I said not to do.

I remain a doubting Thomas until I see evidence of something concrete that's all. If you find that strange then that is your priority, as it is mine to remain a tad skeptical.
You've obviously had your eyes and ears closed for the last few months then.

This! People are really not understanding what Moshiri wants and is going to do.

We will not recognise ourselves in a few years. ALL parts of the club are changing.

Just because he's not shouting it from the roof tops or announcing it all in the papers people think he's doing nothing.

He met with Lukakus agent yesterday.. I for one think Lukaku will stay tbh.

Dont even want him to stay anymore.

Give us the 65m and he can go and stink out the French league for all I care.
