Unai Emery

I would worry about deulofeu if Emery came here. Would he stay after Emery basically outcast him from the Sevilla side. We're obviously loosing Lukaku so we need to build on a core of Barkley, Deulofeu and Stones, I really think Emery would hinder that.

Right mate I would just like to flag up we'd be getting a manager who'd won several European trophies and running the risk of upsetting a mercurial winger who is good for abar half a season.

For me it would be a fair trade

I'm sold on Emery as a tactician and coach, but what's he like in the transfer market?
Considering he has kept building teams after selling the the likes of kindogbia, rakatic, bakka, navas and the like I'd say he is pretty good.

Or his director is, but we are after one of them as well lol

If Deulofeu doesn't actually do what Emery said he needed to - he will never be anything more than an exciting but ultimately flawed flair player anyways.

hard to remember many top quality players who didn't work hard and who even when not working hard still run out of gas after 45-60 minutes

If Emery came in - could be the differenece between Deulofeu fullfilling his undouted potential rather than seeing it being wasted by coaches who don't get him to push himself, footy is littered with talents like that who basically had careers of what might have been bouncing around various clubs - which is the way Del will go if he doesn't listen

I found it good that the commentary mentioned the link to us last night. Only a good sign.

Was anything said in the after match interview at all? Doubt it now I think about it sensibly.

Yes. Emery isn't necessarily bad news for Del.

Could be the making of him.

More a good sign the fact he interviewed for West ham last year. Means he is open to a Move here to a mid table team as long as he is backed. Considering he was on back to back Europa and champions league the following season, it points to an actual credible chance of getting him after the Jose talk.

I pray he comes here, even if he failed at least it's a show of ambition from the club to appoint an actual successful manager who's stock must be sky high now.

End of the day Groucho, i love Deulofeu, but a young lad of 22 who doesn't exactly work hard when we don't have the ball and is still goosed after 45-60 minutes, is absolutely not a player you can build a side around, but just imagine a Del who can work his butt off in a game and can last the full 90, now that would be some player.

If Emery came and Deulofeu was given a fresh slate - which i think he would be, and isn't willing to work hard to earn his place then really all we will lose is a player we will spend the next few years hoping he will become something he never will do. On the other hand IF he lsitens and puts the work in then...

No way. Those three would become infinitely better players. Just look at the improvement in Deulofeu's work ethic and team play after one year with Emery. Remember how good he was in the first half of the season when he looked fit? And then the second half of the season, after he'd spent a little more time with Martinez..
