Cody Rhodes has been granted his release.



Wade Barrett, who also asked for and got his release a few weeks ago:



I think a lot of guys who have been there a long time and are sick of getting no push are starting to ask to leave. Both Barrett and Rhodes had been there for nearly 10 years, including time in developmental.

In Rhodes case it's a shame, as he's only 30 and has loads left in the tank. The Stardust gimmick was rubbish and should have been dropped months ago.
 

Used to really like Rhodes as well, he was great back in the day. Think he showed great potential tag teaming with Hardcore Holly, doing the Legacy thing with Orton and DiBiase and with the pretty entertaining "dashing" gimmick. Stardust was complete and utter garbage as far as I'm concerned.

I think you're right. But, there's always a but, personally I'd never have wanted the likes of Barrett or Rhodes anywhere near main events. Not even close.

It's probably hard for them to accept but they're doing the job they love and have to accept their level.

His statement made a lot of sense of the situation.

Good for him, he's very good in the ring but a talented actor too (Shocking how WWE isn't real and they act), he'll be fine.

Be great if he comes back as Cody Rhodes though, I've always liked him as a talent.
