Kevin Mirallas

Either a myth or an optical illusion.

Because I don't often see a team player when Kev is on the ball.

Suppose you missed his tracking back several times and infectious work rate pressing the Norwich back line on Sunday. He is every bit a "team player" as the Clev is, except he also has quality so people tend to forget that

Whoopee Doo.....if the best you can point to for evidence of Kev being a "team player" is a decent performance in an end of season game against a relegated side then the Mirallas delusion goes even deeper than many of us suspected

He "tracked back several times"......

Ditto if using The Clev as a yardstick to compare him with.

He played well against Norwich and he is better than Cleverly......WhoooHooo....

Has the manager of Belgium been informed of this breaking news?

No problem. Let's swap Hazard for Mirallas.
I think Everton might agree, would Chelsea ?

The same Cleverley who played in his favoured position for a good portion of the season.

That's probably why he compared the two, just a thought like.

A bit of a snide who holds a grudge but when motivated correctly will do pretty much anything to win.

I'd say they were incredibly similar which may or not be a good thing.
Agree with a lot of that, but if you play for Jose you are team player first and individual second. I think Mirallas plays too much as an individual to fit into Jose team.

The game against Norwich proves nothing, an end of season meaningless fixture. The change of manager and the introduction of Kenny, Pennington, Davies and Dowell made it a unique day out for Evertonians, nothing else.

It really depends on who is appointed manager and the type of player he wants.
All I am saying is that imo if we get our first choice manager that Kevin Mirallas may struggle.

Don't think that is a concern because no one will stupid enough to start Kone, Cleverley, Niasse and McGeady ahead of Kev at LW.

Stoppitt.......if The Clev was preferred in Kev's "favoured position" for any part of the season it only underlines the fact Mirallas has gone backwards at an alarming rate.

Hopefully he will come to his senses now.

Being kept out the Everton team by Cleverley and losing his place in the Belgium squad will hopefully have a sobering effect and encourage him to stop believing he deserves a bigger stage than Everton as of right and start applying himself to become the player he used to be and who knows, may yet become again.

And while he's at it, learn how to dive properly and quit with the reckless tackles right under the rereree's nose :)

Then we might start to see a player worthy of the undue reverence he us held in by many round these parts ;)

It was down to Martinez. He tended to play his favourites like Kone and Cleverley. Kev lost his place in his national team because he rarely played last season.

You shifted that subject pretty quickly there didn't you.

Again he hasn't gone backwards at an alarming rate, the only thing that's dropped is his playing time.

It's been covered many many times in this very thread but the stats and the quotes debunk a lot of the myths surrounding Mirallas but it doesn't seem to stop this absolute rubbish getting peddled every now and again.

Fully agree, He preferred Kone and Cleverley on the left, even at times Barkley and Osman went out there. He could quite easily have played Lennon, Deulofeu or Miralles, all natural wingers. He obviously didn't fancy that system unless he really rated Kone and Cleverley better than them three.

He didn't favour playing two wingers. Neither did Moyes, look at all the teams in the league, very few actually play with two wingers. Seems to be a modern thing these days. All of a sudden one manager will play with two out and out wide men and it will become fashionable again.

I agree, even when he played two winger a few weeks ago, Lennon was always behind Lukaku leaving Deulofeu on the wing. He could easily have had Lennon or Miralles do what Cleverley and Kone do though.
