I know Martinez has had some stick and rightly so in some aspects.
However, the personal development plan worked out by Martinez, Unsworth, and Royal will pay off hugely in the future Sunday was just a taster for what talent is coming down the road in the next few years.

If any of them play more than 5 times next season I will be shocked.

Whoever the manager is that comes in wont build his team round a bunch of kids, not when they have been promised 100m to spend.

The only way any of them will play is if Unsworth is made manager.

Martinez swerved them all season.

Neither Galloway or Connely are really left backs though mate, connely played their in the youth ranks but he's right footed for a start

Dennis irwin was a right footed left back.

Think connolly wll be a LB and will need to see about galloway

All depends on what happens with a new manager mate and IF any of them really impresses in pre season

other than that will be likely league cup, fa cup early round games etc that we see most of them get a chance in. Barring some weird injury crisis in one spot like United had this year

Reality is, we have people shouting for a top manager to come in, shouting for us to win things and compete for the league etc, and shouting for us to give the academy lads lot sof games, the 3 thigns just don't go together UNLESS you have the likes of Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and G Neville breaking througyh at the same time, which good though are kids are - don't think anyone has hopes that high for them

I think any manager coming in will spend the money on a new spine,GK / CB / CM / CF and logically a LW.

With a huge amount saved in the wage budget theres room for new contracts for top players and young kids who have come through as well as any signings.

Rather than build the side around the young lads i think a manager will bring in a new spine and then fit the players around it. For next season there should also be a lot of loans but we have a lot of players now adding depth which we havent had for a very long time.

aye there has been a few who have played the side of their weaker foot mate, just saying it's usually not 'ideal'

Him and Kenny on the right have been played in midfield and centre back as well for u21s i think but it would be ideal if they developed as our full backs.

connolly has scored a fair few from left back as well probably cutting inside on his right. Good to start having some depth on the right at least.

Still far too early to judge these players but looking at the reports in the youth teams and loan threads theres a lot of promise.

It may be too early next season but if we have 4 players in defence able to step in when needed and the same in centre midfield that will really help us depth wise.

Also with these young players the "culture" and positivity around the team should be interesting compared to a team of mercenaries. The u21s seem to win a lot of games and that breeds confidence.

Hard to judge individuals at this stage but Davies seems to have it all and a few others like Kenny and Connolly are in England youth teams which hopefully is a good sign.

There seems to be about 8-10 players who have a chance to come through which is incredible.

Its incredible that you think we have 8-10 players ready to make the step up.

The 1 thing I notice from them all is they all need to bulk up, Rooney made the break cos of his frame, same for Barkley, I appreciate they are all young lads and could bulk up with age, but its a concern for me.

If more than 1 of them makes the break I will be more than happy, the rest will certainly have a long and successful career in the lower leagues.

Wouldn't like to write him off just yet though, also, Garbutt is a natural left - back.

They will all start off with a clean slate.

But there has to be some balance in the squad

Left back we have

Baines
Oviedo
Garbutt
Connolly
Galloway (perhaps)

Even if the bottom 2 go on loan we still have 3 players there which is top heavy.

Also on the right side we could have

Coleman
Kenny
Pennington
Connolly (again)
Browning
Holgate

So were looking much stronger depth wise and some may play CB not full back but we cant have too many players for each role or they will get stale and also morale may drop.

Will be a key 12months i think under a new manager to see who makes it through. I dont think weve had ao much competition in decades.

Who said "You can't win with Kids" well in my opinion this is a bigger and potentially better "the class of 92" we need 3 good signings max.
I am surprised by your doubts as you post regularly in a very positively way on the youth and loan threads.
Trying spend vast amounts on so-called super- stars fails for most clubs. Man u 300m Liverpool 300m prior to Klopp, Man City 49m for Sterling and 72m two dumpling center backs.
No the sensible approach to buying in order to take the team forward with a with our youngsters developed to come into the team.
There is plenty of young players here, without paying absorbent fees for players.

Just looking at the United 'golden generation' of youngsters mate

Beckham - made his United debut a month shy of his 20th (brief loan spell prior at PNE)
G Neville - Got his chance when Parker got injured mid way through the season - so basically a lucky break saw him in the team at 20
Scholes - debut a month before his 20th, wasnt until Hughes moved on though the following year he really broke through into the starting team
Butt - same as the above, got his chance at 20 covering for Keane int he United side

that was a remarkable group of young players, and was back in the day when the squads sizes and depth wasn't massive like now, and most of them had fortune with players ahead of them getting crocked to give them their chances, it is massively difficult to bring in several young players at once into this league

And history tells me that in most age groups there is normally 1 lad who is good enough for the first team, the rest are good solid players which lack the required skill set to be Premiership players.

I just require a sense of realism, thats all.

Tom Davies looked good yesterday, the lad can play, but that Norwich team is a Championship team.

Everybodys heads have fallen off.

And ive always said that, I honestly dont rate youth players, if they are good enough they break through, but the Jose Baxters, the John Paul Kissocks, they keep me grounded.
