Roberto Martinez's Everton sit in 12th place in the Premier League table with two games to play
New major shareholder at
Everton Farhad Moshiri will decide when Martinez is jettisoned with the spineless surrender at champions
Leicester City on Saturday laying bare the need for change.
Everton had hoped to reach the end of the season without firing Martinez, but the club’s hierarchy have been forced to reassess that with Wednesday’s trip to
Sunderland preceding the final home game of a poor campaign against
Norwich next Sunday.
The agent of Ajax coach De Boer claimed his client would “love” to join the Merseyside club and he will be one of a number of names under consideration.

Roberto Martinez's future at Goodison Park looks increasingly uncertain, but who could replace the under-pressure Toffees boss?
“He would love to join a club like Everton or Valencia,” said Guido Albers. “It’s all about the right philosophy and how they play football. That is what Frank is looking for.”
Fellow Dutchman and
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman will also be discussed by Everton’s board, alongwith the likes of Germany coach Joachim Low, outgoing
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, former Everton boss David Moyes.
Martinez had to endure more protests from Everton supporters during the feeble 3-1 defeat at Leicester when substitute Kevin Mirallas scored a late consolation goal but could not deflect the lack of on-field leadership three years into the Spaniard’s reign.
His malfunctioning team has faced 68 shots on their goal in their last two away games, but the Everton manager argued the win over
Bournemouth showed he had not lost the dressing room.
“We played last week and we had all the attributes you need to win a football game,” he said. “This is a contrasting performance.
“We got caught up in what was a celebration for the home team and we didn’t look ready. A young player who could maybe have been caught by the occasion was Matty Pennington and he was the only player who played with intent, with meaning and desire.
“It is a shame no one else on the pitch could match that focus.”
Sunderland will secure their top-flight status and condemn
Newcastle and Norwich to the drop if they beat Everton at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.
Martinez demanded a reaction from his side, although it remains to be seen whether he will now still be in charge.
“There is a lot riding on the games for us after the performance we had today,” he said. “We need to react and we need to perform in the highest possible level. It is good that we have a game around the corner.
“I expect to have a performance on Wednesday.”
