This is a sign of desperation now. When he's publicly trying to justify his position by comparing it to the achievements of others, rather than revisiting his original expectations (I will get you into the Champions League). What he said about Moyes may be true, but Moyes actually did get us into the Champions League (well, qualifying at least). The fact is, he can't criticise those achievements (or lack thereof) while using them to justify that the job he's done isn't that bad. He's been there to make improvements, he hasn't improved, it would be negligent of the board to keep him on if (as he says) they don't want to settle for mediocrity.

Moyes' remit was he took us over was to save us from relegation and then drag the club up through the table. RM inherited a team that was used to finishing in the top 7. And then later, RM was allowed to spend £28m on a single player, a luxury never made available to Moyes. RM really is a nasty ungrateful little swine.

I know. This is my fear. If he start next season and we're say 12th or 13th after 10 games he'll go then. But what does that do to our season.
Some have said the 'hate' for our manager is sad to witness. Its not hate from me, its business that simply has to be taken care of. Thanks for your efforts and the 1st season in particular and all that stuff. But ee have to act now to move forward with most of these players.
Thing is though, look at our first 10 games this season. We were unlucky, we had a tough start, players were coming into form etc

There were excuses that a lot of us (including me) took as being the reality of what was happening. So it isn't as easy to let him have any time next season, because there is always an excuse, always a reason for something going wrong. Consdering the mind set of martinez fans until recently was 'things will just kick into place' , how long do you give it.

I know you probably agree that we just need to cut ties asap with him, it just isn't good enough and the more you look into it, the worse it looks.

I was no great fan of Moyes but that was a nasty and startlingly direct dig at Moyes. The smarm and contrived charm of the confidence trickster martinez slipping away to reveal the real 'man' beneath the mask.

Come on Bill, Moshi - Get it done.

I've no problem with him having a dig at Moyes, he bent over every time we went to Old Trafford for Sir Alex and then tried to screw us over first chance he got, no having him at all. Prefer Martinez over Moyes all day long and I don't care if upsets the Martinez haters.

I want Martinez gone as well now but he gave us a hell of a first season but unfortunately he hasn't been able to build on that and his times up. can't entrust him with our biggest summer in years based on his transfer dealings of late and absolutely disgraceful defensive record with three England internationals...shocking.

But he can have a pop at Moyes all day long as far as I'm concerned, he's been a breath of fresh air for me, inviting Kendall to FF etc. Shame it has to end this way but that's football, results matter, making decent subs matter, spending £13.5 million for nothing matters, losing Naismith matters, terrible defence, etc, etc. No problem with Martinez the man, just don't think he's right for us now, defence ffs...

The board need to be careful here. If he is managing the team on Sat I think we cold possibly see the most toxic atmosphere that Goodison has had for years. And the responsibility for it all will be their's.

IMO Moshiri has got to be very careful here. He came into our club with massive endorsement from the fans but if he sits on this and does nothing that good will could quite quickly dissipate. It is very important that we start the new season (starting with pre season) as one..... fans, players and club together

Beat him in a semi final though.

There's no actual rationale to you preferring Martinez over Moyes other than some personal agenda you have. Moyes has shown himself to be a far superior manager to Martinez. It can't even be debated.

The very fact that inviting a previous manager to the training ground makes his highlight reel is pretty damning.

I'd also say that if you don't think Moyes had the chance to screw us over at any point before he did then you're quite mistaken. I won't defend Moyes because he annoyed me with the way things were handled, but some of the revisionism about his time here is quite extraordinary. Have we suddenly started to win silverware? No. Winning loads of away games at the big grounds? Nope. Improved our league positions? Not that either.

Martinez was quite happy to screw over Wigan and Swansea when he had the chance, now he's here blaming everyone but himself for our pitiful performances. I won't feel sorry for him in the slightest once he finally gets his marching orders.

Not saying I disagree who is the better, but yes it can be debated if people want to for one very good reason.
