I am not exaggerating that stat though? Not when goal scoring runs count from one season to the next (van nistelroy 11 goals? in a row started the season before), or Unbeaten runs are counted from previous seasons (arsenal?).
So it isn't exagerating to say if we dont win again this season it will be a run of 5 months per league wins in the league.
happy now?
some right auld tosh coming out now - just sack him ffs Mosh, before some start putting the tinfoil on their heads...or worse - not putting it on
simply put.
1. We arent getting relegated
2. We will struggle to win games
3. if we dont win again this season then our run of league wins goes from 1st march to at least august
Agree but he shoudl be gone now, put Sheedy & Unsworth as caretaker managers and work on Pellegrini when City are eliminated, though Im sure his agent would be happy to talk on his behalf now!plenty of reason to sack him mate, but you really think candidates with something left to achieve would even entertain us until their season is over? Imagine sitting down with Pellegrini before he takes his team to the CL semis? Now isn't the time to be negotiating the new manager unless they are out of work already, that will be done in the close season.
I want him sacked now as much as the next person sure, annoys me that he hasn't been.
They don't have to come over straight away, just be signed up for next season. You even used Pellegrini as an example, when he himself has been replaced but not removed from his post (although I'd want Martinez out the door pronto).plenty of reason to sack him mate, but you really think candidates with something left to achieve would even entertain us until their season is over? That is my point yeah, perception completely changes as lets be honest we don't follow other teams to garner a realistic view on their affairs. So if the media sell a hard luck story then other fans will buy that and there will be less external pressure on the club to sack him.The media has a lot to answer for and the neutral fan is only too happy to take a swig of the coolaid!
In response to my frustration/anger at Roberto at work last week I got a lot of 'I like Martinez seems to be doing a good job', 'at least he's trying to play the right way' and so on, then last night one of mates said 'I see all the fans want moyes back'
FML
A slightly promising note I guess is that the Club's social media platforms have chosen not to publish any comments from Martinez for the last two matches
Not really no.
They are trying to wind you up mate and you're letting them. Just go along with it, that's what I do, turns the tables on themAll I get when I discuss Martinez with friends and work colleagues is "why do you want him sacked? He's doing a decent job. You're not going down and in a safe mid table position. Where do you think he should have you? Top 6? don't be unrealistic".
Totally depressing and it's driving me bonkers.
learn to read thenIf you could adopt this approach everytime we'd all be happier people.
This is a very important point mate , well noticed. The club other than the obligatory FA organised press conference have completely dissociated themselves publicly with the manager.
That tells a great deal about relationships between both parties, and it should appease those concerned about his future at the club.
