I expect nothing less

Either the media run stories or how terrible Martinez is or they run stories thst in fact he is unlucky/bad run/can turn it around /best for the club.

When Rodger s was sacked, where was the testimonies for him to be kept? Or Jose? Or van gaal now?

No I'm just saying that it's right for articles to be posted for either side of the debate.

I want RM gone as much as anybody else, now.

Here's a strange idea for us to consider (pin hopes to)...

The delay in dismissing Martinez might be due to it taking a little longer than expected to dot the i's and cross the t's on a staggering appointment to replace him.

The job awaiting the new manager is a big one, a massive one as the whole mindset within the club needs to alter course. This is a genuine project, a chance for the right person to mould a club, a team, a fan base into a dynasty.

I'm leaning towards thinking that we're not getting any kind of also-ran or up-and-coming manager, that we are working hard on a genuine top quality candidate who is seeking plenty of assurances from the new owner who is doing his utmost to provide them in such a way as to give the manager total authority to re-build our club with a five-year target of minimum CL qualification and (at least) one domestic cup.

To be hinest right now as a fan it is just incredibly fustrating and sad that there still isn't any word on him leaving.

I'm not asking him to be put in the stocks or fired out of a cannon, just release a bloody statement saying he is going. Once that comes out we can all rest easy and at least try and enjoy the rest of the season.
I'm now convinced that they're not going to sack him until they have a replacement signed up. And I can only assume they haven't sorted that bit yet. There's no other logical reason why he is still employed.

Think he repeated it yesterday if memory serves me.

There's no doubt he should go now though. No doubt at all.

Oh ok didn't realise he'd said it yesterday.

Blimey, bit of a risk with us not yet being mathematically (but as good as) safe for the season.

Just not sure how different any review will be based on the next four games.

He really is the man. We should have got him 3 years ago. This is a manager Everton.

One win and we're definitely safe.

Sorry state of affairs.

Even worse is the fact I can't see where that next win is coming from.

Yeh I do think we'll muddle through until the summer with him still in charge - but the atmosphere vs Bournemouth is gonna be horrible and I think if we don't get a result they may have to act.

But that is the thing, the media take one side and push for that. right now, you wouldn't think Martinez was a dead man walking when you put sky sports on and the keeper is praising him, or a former player is praising him elsewhere. that is my point, when it comes to teams who do have ambition, chelsea liverpool united for example then you get the media actually asking questions, writing up negative pieces and touting the job out before they have officially gone. We don't get that, which tells you the media don't want him sacked, pundits think we are in a fair position, in fact the only ones calling him for what he is are the fans.

In the grand scheme of things, it alters public perception of what is going on, and in turn public perception of us as a club. If we had sacked him yesterday, there was always going to be two outcomes media wise, either not good enough, has to go. Or, everton harshly sack martinez despite getting us this far.
