The tactics are the problem - or lack of them. Utd set out yesterday with 3 at the back to mark Rom .. The full backs pushed up all of time so our wide men had to go with them .. Simple tactics but not hard to work out .. It same old story every game and awful to see .. I think in the second half yesterday the players , stones especially said .f..k this let just have a go and tactics were ignored .. Much better then ... So what does that tell us ? Simple really - Roberto must go ... !

he had more then moyes a lot more not having a go at you though but if kenwright had a brain he'd see that and put us out of our misery

Moyes could never have signed the same players for these amounts though...Yakubu at £11mil back then was like Lukaku now and if we sold Lukaku we could replace him and have zero net spend.

Ive moved to the martinez out camp but fully agree with him that he hasnt had real investment in the squad....on paper hes swapped Fellaini for Lukaku and then not had the funds to bring in quality around the pitch....

I thought this perception of Martinez was wrong. A quick player in and out search over the last two seasons has seen us spend a net 64 million on players. Moyes actually went 2 seasons without spending money on a transfer.

We're already there fella - overpaid massively for a player that Martinez says won't even contribute this season. And he's on £55k a week !

Total disgrace of a signing but the article showing the wages apparently had a * at the bottom saying they were taken from football manager ;)

Not going to go in to this too much but forwards alone is 48.5 million. Not sure why u are not including Niasse, but Kone as well.

Kone was £5mil and i only highlighted players over £5mil.

Niasse tbh i left him off as we dont know if hes any good or not....but mostly because hes not actually been in the team.

Was gonna respond but you come across as a bit of a idiot with your skewed stats and arsy statements. Should just include players over 20 million and he's barely bought anyone and pretty much worked miracles. /sarcasm

So you take to insulting me when i question your post?

I win.

If you are quoting figures to support your argument, then quote all the figures. Otherwise don't quote any.

If any good has come from this massively underwhelming week, it has been that a fractured fan-base is reuniting and looking toward the common good.

Sadly, I witnessed at least two extremely, shall we say, heated discussions between Blues yesterday.
The first began about ten minutes into the game and carried on till half time when the main protagonist was taken out by stewards and patently told to stfu or be ejected... He sensibly chose to stfu.
The second was post game on the concourse where another small group where going at it verbally, hammer and tongs.
Thankfully, it was all just verbals and borne out of obvious and totally understandable frustration.

Fair enough do you reckon moyes would get the best out of the squad now ?

I think if you look at the statements from Martinez he's correct on 2 counts:

A-- The value of the squad is greater than hes spent
B-- Hes really had minimal investment

Bar Niasse I think you can put his signings into several categories:

1-- Cheap punts
2-- Free signings
3-- Short term stopgaps
4-- Long term signings

Until the Niasse signing his (4) long term signings were Lukaku,Mori,McCarthy,Deulofeu Besic, Galloway for money.

I think based upon that he would have made an ideal director of football given funds to spend ONLY on that category of player.

To answer your question on Moyes its really hard to gauge how he would line up the team. I dont think Mori or Stones would get regular games under him if he had other Jagielka ultra defensive type options, also Deulofeu and Lukaku and Barkley would likely suffer under him.

I think he would be a failure at getting the best out of this squad, we need a manager who is adept tactically to play attacking football like De Boer OR someone like Mourinho who can bring in players to improve the quality of the team.

Moyes was good at getting the best out of limited players to improve the team.
