Pretty sure IF we win at Anfield, we'll be in the top 4 on away form.

Not holding my breath for a win at the pit like, but don't see what's so outrageous about the comment.

It is not outrageous at all, however I think the ten teams above us, could say exactly the same ......

Given the sad and woefully inaccurate nature of some of the comments made by RM today, can we expect Leighton Baines to issue a statement tomorrow morning to suggest that he's spoken with Roberto and the manager was misinterpreted and has apologised for saying things that have been taken out of context ?

I know some wont agree with me on this but I feel we should of got rid of Martinez this week and brought in someone like royle or peter reid to finish off the season. I cant see any benefit in keeping Martinez, there is clearly signs that the players dont trust him and we may have thrown away a chance of the FA Cup by keeping him. A fresh manager would of injected a new spirit into a dwindling team on such an important week for the club.

As it stands I can see us getting thrashed by Liverpool and losing by an odd goal to Man Utd and then we will sack him and we've thrown away a great chance of silverware.

IF... we win we will be in the top 4 in away form. great.

We aren't, the table states we are 7th - its not an accurate comment. If we would have won the Semi against city we would have been in the final.

I want to deal with absolutes, not IF's and But's. we have heard enough of that from Martinez for 2 lifetimes.

I would rather him say "look our home form is an embarrassment to this great club, but our away form is decent - not title winning but decent form and if we replicated we would be in good shape". To define it as champions league form is fundamentally wrong.

Enough soundbites from him now, too much papering over cracks, fluff talk and phenomenal soundbites. Id rather him come in and be honest then talk crap.

I didnt hear him say our home form is 19th in the league and relegation form. Which is more accurate then the champions league form soundbite.

He has turned himself into a joke figure, way out of his depth and with nothing to back his BS up anymore.

As Chris Sutton rightfully pointed out on the BBC, he talks absolute nonsense and is now an embarrassment to the club.

We may as well have painted a mural of Doink on the side of GP.

Fair enough. That's a reasonable point. Still see no reason to attack him over THAT comment though.

He talks baloney sometimes, I agree, but this isn't one of those times.

If our away form mirrored the home form then we would have different results than what we actually got, meaning the form and points total of other teams in the league would vary, games won would be draws, games lost would suddenly gain more points etc.

So whether we are 7th or 4th or wherever people want to say we are in an imaginary league table, you can't adjust ours and forget it changes everyone else's standings as well

And seeing as our home form's so shabbite, if naarch & bournemouth beat us (Or even get a point) at Goodison - Where will we be in the superlative away table then?

Will 'el blend' still be harping on about it then, I wonder?

Mate, we have a game in hand on everybody above us (in the away league table) apart from City. If the away table was the deciding factor, then we'd be competing for CL based on that criteria.

We're not competing for the CL though, and that's without question. It's not been good enough, but let's not pretend his comment was in any way delusional.

He might have been trying to put a positive spin on things, but I'm not gonna laugh at him for what was a fairly accurate comment.

But the away form table isn't a defining factor... Just as glossing over the home form table, it isn't a factor. 19th in that one, so relegation form - one is more accurate then the other.

We're as close to 4th in that away league table as we are to 14th. 3 points. Not that it matters anyway.

Martinez has done a rancid job here over the last two years. It will be a travesty if he's still here next season.

Yep changing a result isn't an alternate League table it's an alternate reality.
