So your fact is that we'd be within 1 win of the top 4? So still not in it.

Don't let facts get in the way of being a right misery guts.

Not being a misery. Just don't see the point in bashing him for things which aren't even outrageous things to say.

Has our season been good enough? No, it hasn't.

In the away table, we also have a game in hand against everybody above us, apart from City.

But let's not just attack everything he says. It reeks of hysteria mate.

The away table goal difference will take an utter pounding tomorrow..

If it was champions league form we would have the 4th best away form, we don't we have the 7th ergo, not champions league form

To be fair, if the away form was all that counted, then we'd be within one win of the top 4, with superior goal difference to everybody but the top 2 - in a hypothetical away table.

But don't let facts get in the way of mass hysteria.

...it's as irrelevant as the 72 points which achieved nothing.

Funny though, citing it as hysteria yet referencing hypothetical's as a positive.

You'd make a great manager. ;)

You do have a point, it has got to the stage where most of us are so peed off that everything he says is slaughtered. However, he doesn't help himself does he. Clearly if our home form was as good as away form we would have 48 points, which is obviously better but still not great.

I think you're confusing hysteria with people posting their thoughts on a forum about Everton in the thread about the manager.

But let's not just attack everything he says.

Ok mate, just these two things on their own ought to be enough.

'...we've been working ten months with the highest standards to try to be in a week like this, looking forward to our derby and then looking forward to a semi-final of the FA cup...'

Can't believe he said our supporters can learn from the passion of the Anfield crowd and be more like them at Goodison and we would have won more games!!!

When just about everything out of his gob is total balderdash, tell me - what do you expect? He makes gnashers rodgers look positively lucid ffs.

But that's nonsensical, it's like saying if playing the teams in the bottom 3 was all that counted then we'd be in the champions league. You can't just pick and choose form to support an argument, form is over a whole league season and must all be included.

I agree entirely. But not gonna stick the boot into him for saying our away form is good. That's the crux of the matter......

People sticking the knife in over a comment that is perfectly reasonable.

Surely people are just pointing out that he's wrong. If we're just looking at away form then we're not in the top 4. If we had won the same amount of points at home as we did away then we wouldn't be in the top 4. In the non alternative universe we are nowhere near the top 4.

He's attempting to defend himself by making out our away form is great, but it isn't. It's good, round about the level we would expect it to be, but it isn't great.

It's not outrageous to say what he has, but it's just yet another example of him failing to accept responsibility, and instead point to the positives as if that somehow makes it all ok. People say he's raised expectations and he doesn't talk us down like Moyes, but that's exactly what he's doing here. Moyes was castigated for suggesting 7th was a decent return, now we've got a manager telling us we might not make 7th, but at least we're the 7th best away team. I suppose there's just no pleasing us everton fans is there?
