Moshiri seems to have moved us into a completely different bracket of conversation regarding the next manager than the one we were having when Moyes went.
To put it bluntly mate, we've gone from this..

I will eat my socks if we get Mourinho, I just cannot see it but would be delighted if proved wrong. Back on planet earth it looks like the odds on Martinez getting the sack are shortening by the day and there seem to be a few rumours emerging that he knows he is on his way, as I mentioned yesterday, someone who is more often right than wrong reckons all will be revealed next week.

Can't see owt being revealed next week if we beat United on Saturday.

Except if they were to announce Bobby was staying next season.

But there is no way an impending departure would be announced with the Cup Final to concentrate minds.

If we lose, however.......

Say what you like about Jose but getting him is the ONLY scenario in which I can see:

A) us being able to keep Rom/Stones
B) us being able to actually attract decent players with the new investment.
he'd also make us big news. The man is a walking headline and the media loves him (or loves to hate him). at the moment the only time we are in the the news is when some blag journo is selling our best players.

The treatment of Pellegrini in the media is ridiculous. That side he had in 13/14 were one of the best in prem history and played wonderful football. They really were the best side that season despite the media demonising them for robbing their beloved reds and ruining 'the dream'.

same thing happened to Ranierri mate when he was at Chelsea, made up they are finally being made to eat their own words on him this season

If there is ANY possibility of getting Mourinho we must make maximum effort to make it happen.

If we can't pull that off but end up with Pellegrini , De Boer , Koeman or Cocu I would be very happy.

What is surely the case is that Martinez can only be days or weeks away from being relieved of his duties.

Jose is a smart man, he knows what kind of club we are, moreso than the press who only care about the big 4. Giggs is the future manager of Utd, no question in my mind and they probably want him to assist Jose and maybe both sides have doubts about it. Jose might want his own man, they may not get on, who knows. Also going into work knowing half the people there don't want you would be tough. Jose will want control of certain things and could be fought tooth and nail for them. Is it worth it for him?. At Everton he will be No.1, he will have control of everything. He will be regarded as a god pretty much no matter what he does. If I was a player who wanted away, saw a billionare and Jose coming to the club, I'd want to be there for the ride. Talented underperforing team that can only get better and funds to buy the players you want. The chance to prove once and for all, casting all doubters aside that he is indeed the special one.

Prob going Utd though.

In the end United might swerve Mourinho like we and others swerved Clough back in the day...just too mouthy/ wants his own way/ hot to handle

If we do get the chance I hope we take it this time.

Thing with United, IF they appoint Mourinho and it doesn't work out then a lot of people at that club will end up getting the boot as the fans will rip them apart mate, to hire Mourinho they will have to basically force Charlton, Ferguson and Giggs/Class of 92 - out of the club as they are all heavinly opoposed, that is a massive risk to take and some powerful figure in that club to basically push out the door, don't knopw if they have the bollocks to take them on really

I think Charlton has a big influence at Utd doesn't he, I was told by a few Utd fans he was certainly influencing getting Moyes the job at the time.

Aye with Hibbert at rb!

serious note though, the calibre of player we could attract with a proven and top quality manager would be interesting as think it would be massively higher than we have been use too
Players will want to play for him and if he promises them CL football they'll believe he can deliver - unlike our current phenomenal manager

Aye he is a director of them mate, also from what i remember the fact the Glazers kept him so prominent at united was used as a shield against the fan unrest when they tookover, be a brave decision to push him out and go against what he wishes for them

Glazers haven't shown that willingness to go against a powerful figure at United before and doubt they will risk it now, they push him out get Mourinho - even though the fans want him, and it goes sour, then the fans will forget all about being in favour and will just tear them apart for forcing Charlton out and they will hav elost their bridge betwen them by thei own doing.

Charlton, Ferguson, Gill - class of 92, all dead set against Mourinho, thats some big roadblock to overcome
