I don't understand why @The Esk rang to promote the "out" agenda if he's also right about four candidates being considered. There again, there's a lot I don't understand bout a busiess which has been satisfied with mediocrity for God knows how many years.

Be thankful he does and that a proper Evertonian with a brain gets some media airtime rather than kopites ringing up for a laugh wanting a new contract for Martinez or fans with no other idea than 'it wasn't so bad under Moyes, Kenwright is a wonderful owner etc.'. The more blues challenging the usual media rhetoric about plucky little Everton the better. It's as though no one remembers Everton pre 1992.

With silverware would be almost bearable - without would be purgatory

While I dearly hope we manage to win the FA Cup I couldn't agree that it would make another season with Martinez bearable. I don't see Moshiri giving Martinez a free hand with a load of money. So he won't be able to get in quality players. If you were a top class player would you come to Everton under Martinez, we are going backwards and if you speak out you get castigated or dropped.I honestly believe that our top players won't play another season under Martinez, they look as if they won't play out this season.
So losing top players without the ability to bring in top class replacements means, imo, Martinez will relegate us if he stays.
I don't think even winning the cup keeps him his job.

Thanks, I'm not in the slightest bit interested in Fletcher's view which is why I did not respond aggressively, to do so just acknowledges him and his agenda.

The whole purpose is to get on, make the point you want to make (Martinez has to go) they say what they've decided they want to say, then you (the caller) wraps it up with the point you initially made which is the main purpose, and they move on to the next caller.

There's a big change in the media in the last week, we've gone from should he be changed to who should replace him, with no counter claim from the club.

The agenda is moving forward.
Well done on the call, and for keeping your cool. "Let me finish" he said..."You first" should've been your response!

Anyway, as to your second last paragraph, I think that's happening if you take F365 as an example.

Fair question mate. I was addressing a much wider audience, most of whom know little about Everton other than we play great football, score lots and concede lots, and have a wonderful young manager.

Certainly that's been the BBC agenda for most of the season. So it was an attempt to start from the beginning with an explanation of why he should go as well as the message "he should go".

For example talking to Palace fans on Wednesday hardly any realised the Martinez situation.

I don't know if it's an agenda so much as a lazy narrative. It's easy to trot those platitudes out about Martinez without putting any thought into what you're saying.

Pundits are brilliant at perpetuating conventional wisdom.

Well done, @The Esk for offering an alternate narrative. I always appreciate your efforts on the radio.
