Annoying though it is to see them progress, I'm not unduly concerned. They can win as many ELs, League Cups and FA Cups as they like, they've been a cup team for 25 years and nothing more.

I'll choose my words carefully here for fear of a mega-vaulting - Klopp has them playing well in the EL and the RS have always known how to get themselves out of trouble (especially so in Europe), but nothing I've seen in the league tells me they're going to shoot to the top of the table any time soon.
Let's not forget also, for the amount of money spent they really should be challenging for a CL spot every season at least. It was a good win for the rs last night, but let's not build them up to something they're not.

This, unfortunately. CBA syndrome has set in.
Apathy has set in as it's become expected that we'll either perform woefully or when we occasionally do perform we ultimately throw in the towel.

Watching Everton simply isn't pleasurable at the moment to point where people are now simply becoming desensitised to our failings.

Martinez talks about building the club and embedding a future but I see it otherwise; I see the soul of fan base being drained from us.

Can't believe you really mean that! Our expectations now are of imminent, miserable defeat mate.
For all his faults Moyes would have the team up for the remaining games, Martinez is unable to do that and desperately needs removing at the seasons end. IMHO.

Happen so, Fred.

But for one glorious season Bobby reminded me of what it used to be like.

More importantly, he showed me what it can be like again.

And for that he will depart with my best wishes.

BTW....he doesn't need removing at the end of the season.

He needs moving now or we will experience our worst four days since the spring of 1971.

I can`t believe Martinez honestly thinks its important to have a strong finish to the season. His comments are bizzarre ...
I honestly think he has been `heading the ball` to much during his career and it has caused these delusional outburts commonly
known as pre and post match interviews.
I really wish we were facing the kopites and the semi with a caretaker manager, I wonder what guff he is going to spout this week

Nope.

EL winners now go to the final qualifying round of the CL.

That is how important winning the EL would be to Liverpool.

Or any team that won it but finished outside their own league's CL places.
Winners of the Europa will more than likely go straight into the Group Stages :

• The UEFA Europa League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League (at a minimum level of the play-offs).

• The UEFA Europa League winners will be elevated into the group stage if the UEFA Champions League winners qualify directly for the UEFA Champions League group stage via their domestic league programme – something which has happened last season to the benefit of Sevilla, and indeed every year since the turn of the century bar 2005, 2007 and 2012.

He's like a televangelist, he's selling hope without substance. Can't ever let the mask slip lest he lose some acolytes. "I will take you to the promised land, I just need more money/time/support".

Think the fans are very supportive but it's a pity the players don't respond as they should and put a 100% shift in.
Really so banners is being supportive. Certainly not against opinions or judgement ( season end) but for the next week or so let's put everything into getting behind our club. They certainly won't perform if goodison again is simply waiting for a mistake in order to turn.

I agree with him that a "strong finish" to the season is important, Eddy.

Why would't it be?

We win as many matches as possible, go to the Cup Final, hopefully lift the trophy and finish in a higher position than we are now.

What's up with that?

COYB.......
