The newspaper report is correct, there is a meeting tomorrow. Agenda unknown.

(Crosses fingers, toes and other bodily parts possible)

Anything less than a point tonight and we need to get rid before Saturday IMO and sweep some fresh air and optimism back through the doors. He's sounding like a broken record now, the players must be bored to tears with him.

Serious question. Do you think having him in charge for the semi gives us our best possible chance of winning it? I'm not sure anymore.

Think he'll get Saturday even if we lose tonight but depending how sour it got at home then there is a possibility it could all be done and dusted by teatime.

I think for all his current failings, he is a very good cup manager. His record proves that.

Sacking him before the end of the cup run would be very silly imo

From my persepctive we are in a win win situation now, we win a game nice one - it's what i always want but it won't change a thing about wanting him out and the fact that i am certain he is going at the latest when the cup is finished for us, we lose then it hastens Martinez going so a nice silver lining to the cloud of a defeat, will be honest - last two games i have watched us play i've been watching us in a fog and hardly felt involved anyways - got to that point with me now watching this team with Martinez still here
I'm at the same point mate. that last season with Moyes i had no interest in watching us, no enthusiasm watching us play. When a 'big team' came around i expected us to get beat and a crap team i expected us to labour to a result of some sort.

I may watch the game tonight sure, but i wont be anywhere near as passionate about the result as i was 4-5 months ago. not too sure if its because i don't back the manager or because i know he won't be here for much longer. But either way, my passion has gone like it did under Moyes 11th year. A new manager will spark it back to life, even if it was pulis lol

It is the same thing.

If a person is not "arsed' if Everton lose he or she might as well cheer a Palace goal.

For those of us who are "arsed", every goal Everton concede is like a punch in the stomach.

Every defeat is like a knife in the groin.

That's all very well and noble of you, but the truth is that some defeats hurt more than others, and some victories bring more joy than others. I'd be bouncing round more if we won the semi final than I would be if we beat Palace tonight, likewise I'd be more gutted at losing that game than if we lost tonight. That's just how it is

Some defeats do indeed "hurt more than others".

But all defeats hurt to some extent.

At least they do for me.

The day I can't be "arsed" about Everton losing is the day they lay me down.

From what I've seen they are massively motivated in cup games and possibly complacent in the league as a result.

No matter what happens tonight he'll still be here tomorrow ... he won't get sacked even if we get beat 5-0 tonight. Thats just my opinion btw, with a semi final coming up I don't think our board has the balls to do it and will either re assess after the semi final or at the end of the season. Cant see any major changes happening until the summer.

Theres no fight, no motivation, no ambition, the players look like a scene from The Walking Dead, it's frightening to watch at the minute. I hope Moshiri has a back bone and does the deed sooner rather later. He's a successful business man so I'm sure he's already thinking/got something planned. Surely from his point of view, if we got a new manager in (Mourinho as an example) you'd see a massive rise in season ticket sales, huge optimism around the place, the players would be up for it, the crowd would be up for it and it sends a huge message out to everyone else that we mean business and want to get back were we belong.

Everton FC, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum ... that comes before being a nice guy, remember that Moshiri ;)

that is most likeley the scenario mate yeah, but could the board actually justify it still keeping him longer than this summer? If you use the barometer of winning the fa cup, martinez has combined that with relegation so it is no indicator that he would suddenly improve after winning it. but that is a moot point as i can't see into the future.

the call for ferguson is not because i think he is a good manager or anything like that, it is because it would give the fans a bit of a lift with him and joe in charge til may. If the fans are lifted, the players will, especially players like barkley/baines/jags who are blues. Remember we dont need to lift ourselves for every single game, just need to beat 2 teams as opne more win takes us to 40 points anyway and safety.

Sacking martinez now in some highly unlikeley scenario would leave us managerless, only royle has the ability at least to take over in the short term. Personally i would want the the club to take time to find a replacement, not the first unemployed manager to flash an interest at it instead.

and i can accept that we wont go on a 7 game winning streak with them in charge, ferguson could well stay as a coach only for the whole of his career which is fine, it can't be any worse than losing every week considering that is our current predicament. we all know that the season rests on 2 games now, would you rather us go there with a everton legend in charge off the back of poor form, or keep going with a manager who is losing the players and the fans at the same time.

There is one thing you have missed out....the fans.
Do you really want to send ten of thousands of Everton fans down to Wembley, out of pocket big style, who both the fans and the players have no confidence in the current manger?

I would prefer our fans and players to go down to Wembley with hope and a smile on there face before we play that game which means getting rid of the manager and letting sheedy/unsworth/etc lead the team out at Wembley.

Spot on mate, was walking my lad on the weekend just and decided to stay out an extra 20 minutes as the weather was nice rather than rushing home like i normally would to not miss anything.

Wife likes the change though, reckons i am a right PITA to live with for 24 hours after a loss or sometimes a draw normally, and the last few weeks she can't spot the result by my mood anymore...

Unlike most though, i have got the point now i honestly have no sympathy and don't feel sorry for the bloke anymore, i just want him gone as soon as possible and if that means the fans make it known he isn't wanted and don't pull any punches anymore then so be it.

Really don't want my lad growing up like a lot of the 20 something blues have had to - seeing a Everton team win nothing and just being the club others pat on the head in a patronising manner
