I hoestly believe that the banners at Watford was the tipping point, till then he thought he was bullet proof, but he is defo finished just going thru the motions now.
Reading the West ham forum thread on us yesterday pretty much summed up what we are, just a team that exist to most people. As one of them put it 'if everton disbanded one summer, you wouldn't notice until christmas'. and 'you only notice them when you come and play them'.
If anything, without sounding too dramatic, it might be a statement of intent to other fans if we sacked martinez outright no matter if we won the cup or not. Send the message that it wasn't good enough for everton and we are looking for a new manager. Least give us a day of being on the headline, then make another with an ambitious recruitment.
The way he acts like he has assembled some kind of brilliant squad. The back four were bought by Moyes, he had them as a solid unit, and yet Martinez has absolutely ruined them. His midfield is woeful, absoutely woeful, and his goalkeeper is Wigan standard! One of his front two is an academy product, and the other one is a great striker, but he has bought three strikers since being here at a cost of 50 million pound, and two of them are utterly awful and cost us 20 million pound!
A great squad builder HE AINT!
No blame ? Up to now, he's blamed everything except the weather
it was just an observation on what a different site thinks of us, under no pressure to make a direct insult to us.West Ham probably isn't the best group of fans to ask. They're a fully mid-table club who will always act too big for their boots. If they're facing relegation, their fans will tell you they're mid-table quality. If they're mid-table, their fans will tell you they're European quality.
But, they've got the right kind of idea.
Wigan fans were saying the same about Martinez ... In 2011
He's a good squad builder. Don't get it wrong.
That's it though.

If you look at our first team squad there are massive issues within it, even though martinez has bought in those areas. It is almost like he hopes that these untried young players are all going to come good for him at the same time.
- has three left backs, somehow plays a centre half there at the start of the season.
- only three senior centre halves and one of them is technically still eligible to represent the under 21s.
- One right back, one that is constantly injured and the third we seem to pay to go fishing these days.
- Plays 2 holding and then tecnically we only have 2 replacements as we don't play Gibson.
- We only play one winger and only have one left sided wide player, who doesn't even make the bench.
- We have three strikers but don't actually play 2 of them.
He isn't though. I've just explained why. Bar Lukaku his signings are average at best. He's spent 20 million on Kone and Niasse and failed to solve the issue with left midfield for over two years. He still uses Moyes' defence. His keeper is Wigan standard. And although some people will refuse to accept it until it blows right up in their face, the likes of Barry, McCarthy and Cleverley are average premier league players at best, and they form an average-to-poor central midfield.
If it's in need of major investment, wouldn't you say Martinez has done well with the money at his disposal? Spent money on Kone and although it was a failed signing, it could have been a bit better if he never got a year long injury like. And Niasse, despite some fans already getting on his back, has only played 45 minutes. We need to see him a lot more to decide, but come on, 45 minutes since January. He isn't though. The idea that we have the best squad in 30 years is a total myth, it's an average squad in need of major investment!
They're an entire thread dedicated to why peyote are discussing Niasse and whether he is crap or not. I'm in the undecided branch but I think the transfer itself and how he's BARELY even been shown stink something awful..If it's in need of major investment, wouldn't you say Martinez has done well with the money at his disposal?
