He replies: "Very simple: The home results have not been good enough.

"Our consistency away from home hasn't been repeated at home.

"We haven't got the amount of points our performances have deserved but that's something we have to address and improve

Even better, we have won one more game away than at home. We are consistent, and being equally bad winning games when not at goodison. Considering 2 of the 5 wins were villa and newcastle it means we have only 3 wins away to take away from the games so far. At home...1.

I'd also argue we are where we are because that is what we deserve after 30 games or so. I would also argue these issues should be addressed months before now. It doesn't help pretty much throwing the same team and tactics at everyone every game and wondering why we are getting beat!

I watched the press conference.

Interesting hearing him say at this stage of the season we are still in 2 competitions...amazing.

He tried hiding it but you can see he knows the writing is on the wall. Shame but time to go.

Just cringed at that, won one more away then at home - but we have drew a lot maybe he thinks thats good consistency.

Terry Venables once said something like "If what you are doing is wrong then all the training in the world is only going to make you better at doing it wrong". Wish Bobby would heed this advice.

Yeah I'm starting to feel a bit embarrassed myself. It's like we have no respect at all for our own stature.
Its hitting the nail on the head with this ambition talk. Because it really is not showing any ambition to continue down this path. Granted we have a chance of winning a cup out of this run but as it has been rightly said, the kopites sacked their 'legend' of a manager after he finished what 8th or 7th and won a cup. considering how much they are in the wilderness as united fans enjoy saying, it begs the question as to why there should be any other outcome other than a change in manager this summer. Even west ham replaced allardice who actually got them midtable after bringing them up because they wanted a bit of ambition.

There is an easy way out of this, mutual consent statement, with roberto saying something along the lines of 'i tried but couldn't take the team any further', show some humility and perhaps then he comes away with some reputation intact to move onto the next job. Relegated and sacked doesn't light up a CV quite the same way.....

Away form has been respectable. Put it this way, if it had been 'fortress Goodison' this season, we'd be flying. However it hasn't been, and the home form has been abysmal, but to try and make out the away form hasn't been respectable is ludicrous.

Aye.

Least he is acknolodging relegation as something we are avoiding currently.........

only feels a few games ago we could have been 2 points off 5th in the league with city faltering.

I think his days must be numbered, it's only the possibility of us winning the cup that makes the likelihood of his sacking questionable. But even with a cup win, who in the right mind is going to want to join a club run by Roberto Martinez? Any defender or goalkeeper with any amount of sense would want to stay well clear.

We simply just aren't going to progress with this man in charge. He needs to be sacked at the end of the season at the very latest.

Away form is average. Last 10 years this season is either slightly up or down over that time. There is a big improvement over last season mind but it couldn't get any worse really.
