Not sure where the idea came from that he conducts himself with class. He blames absolutely everyone and everything other than himself, and recently dragged a player's name through the mud in order to deflect from yet another poor run of form.

I'm not disputing your display of class throughout this trying time, mind.
Have to agree with this.

I'm sure he's a lovely bloke on a personal level, and from speaking to people who've chatted to him that seems to be the case. In his role as manager though, he seems to have fallen out with a lot of well respected senior pros, has blamed seemingly anything and everything except himself, and has been less than complimentary about both our fans and our history. He also risked bringing the club into disrepute when getting his world cup accreditation removed for not playing by the rules.

I think some people were taken in by the obvious media stuff he did when he first came in - bringing on board Royle and Ferguson, inviting Kendall to Finch Farm etc. I don't think he 'gets' Everton in the slightest, if he'd taken the Liverpool or Villa jobs he'd have said and done the exact same things as he did to us. I think he's just a pretty bright bloke who has had extensive media training and knows which buttons to press. Unfortunately, he now seems to have accidentally pressed the one marked 'self destruct'.

Translation issue? Mate he's an intelligent man who has been in this country for a very long time. His English is more than good enough to appreciate the potential divisiveness of 'You Everton fans'.

If he's come to not enjoy being here, then yes agreed the Board should have accepted his resignation. But if he's seeing winning the Cup as piping down the fans ('getting them off our backs' if the quote is accurate) it's a pretty desperate mess and needs to be fixed immediately.

Stop.

Yeah I think I largely agree with this - he's great when the going is good, prone to some dodgy outbursts when under pressure; like most of us I would think.

I think the strangest bit of praise I've seen for him is that he even bothered to turn up for an U-21 game - er, it's his job.
It's not even a case of expecting him to be some paragon of virtue, either. According to Everton fans, Moyes was the classiest, most dignified man in sport, until he wasn't.

I think its poor really any fan taking a pop at an Everton manager. I can`t hear what was said, so therefore assume neither can anyone else.
I think if Martinez did say `you everton fans` then that could simply be a translation issue and little should be read into that.

Its sad that things have been allowed to progress like this by the board. If Moshiri had as Kenwright claimed been in talks for 18 months then he should of brought his own man in with him. This would of been better for all and makes me question the board and their intentions.
Watching this play out now is `car crash tv` and we Everton are better than that.

He's been in England half his adult life...

Obviously had to blank out certain bits but that's the picture I saw on twitter @orly

So basically this idiot got in Martinez face and verbally abused him....Martinez let him finish his tirade of abuse and then left.

The guy then claims Duncan Ferguson agrees with him which basically makes his claim of Martinez stating anything about the fans, utter nonsense.

Lucky not to be in trouble for that i think...people get bans for less.

I've made this point already, but having read the Martinez replacement thread it compels me to make it again. The likes of Spurs and the RS sack their managers because they believe 7th place isn't good enough. This is what big clubs with ambition do. Whereas Everton seem to have difficulty deciding whether 14th place is good enough, and there is a very real possibility that our grossly underachieving manager may be given yet another season to massively underachieve once more.

I have spent my entire life arguing with people until I am blue in the face that Everton are a big club, at school,at Uni at work. I'm not sure if I can do it anymore, because we just don't act like a big club. We have no ambition, and seem more concerned about being 'nice people' than we do with winning.

Spurs and the RS aren't even top tier clubs, they are second tier clubs, and we are way behind them in every possible way. Our peers are now Palace, West Brom, and Swansea. But even Swansea had the balls to sack a manager who actually had their best win ratio in the Premier League! I really hope Moshiri has an actual plan to change things at Everton, because we have been so far off the pace for so long now.

I cant see anyone offering to resign and walk away from a pay off. On the balance of probabilities that also is unlikely to have happened.
I wonder how else he can refer to Everton`s fans whilst talking to an Everton fan? ... again probably taken way out of context. I have yet to see actual proof of what was said up until then its pure speculation.
The board are obviously sitting on their hands until after the semi, and its not really doing anyone any good. The season or seasons he has been here are what he should be judged on, not a cup run and the board should act now and stop this circus .... the kopites are loving it !
