The position of manager at Everton is one that deserves respect whatever you think about his performance....his employers will make judgement on that, not disgruntled fellas at an U-21 game. If you want to encourage a new Manager then showing him publically the abuse he'll get if things don't go well may well shorten the queue of applicants.

As I said in post #1041 in response to a similar comment about the "Everton way" of doing things:

As a 60-year old STH, I applaud those who made and displayed the banners. Prior to this, the media were oblivious to the feelings of the majority of the fanbase: the media coverage of the banners has finally given them the heads-up. More publicity = more pressure on the board to get rid of the guy who sadly is taking the club backwards.

Not our way of doing things? Have you forgotten we sacked a manager in a taxi; we threw cushions from the main stand; we physically attacked The Cat for dropping the Golden Vision; we have daubed slogans on walls many many times. There are many more examples of "the Everton way". Have you been following a different club?

Amazed that a fanbase that has historically stood up to the powers that be, in matters political and Everton, are directing their ire at a young Evertonian for daring to publicly enter into debate with a massively under-performing manager.

Really don't like how sour this is threatening to turn. Banners are spot on, confronting the bloke and demanding he get out the club whilst swearing is another. Think the club needs to take the initiative and act to be honest.
