It seems to me first season Bobby had a back four who were still indoctrinated(not even sure that's a word) into the ways of the Moyes, slowly but surely though that has ebbed away and we are where we are.

First season he inherited a good side from Moyes who were lacking a goalscorer. He got that in Lukaku on loan, but the team that finished 5th that season was very much Moyes' team still, and I genuinely believe Moyes would have taken that team to 5th or higher with Lukaku in the team, so it's not like Martinez had some great season - it wasn't his team.

You're not the first to claim that Martinez relied on the defensive plans laid by Moyes - but it's patently not true!

Martinez introduced an original and attractive style of play using Baines and - in particular - Coleman to take the ball out of defence and provide crosses for his new signing Lukaku. Can you imagine that Moyes would ever have signed Lukaku? Martinez also signed Barry and McCarthy to provide cover in his new system when the fullbacks went forward. So the team was largely of Martinez' own making - although the goalkeeper was indeed Moyes' choice.

And the team was successful too;
6 Everton 38 16 15 7 55 40 +15 63 Last season under Moyes
5 Everton 38 21 09 8 61 39 +22 72 First season under Martinez

In his second season, opponents pressed our defenders and prevented them playing the ball out. Roberto didn't provide an answer to that.

This season, the team has played the ball forward through the centre with great success, using Barry as the focus. Deulofeu and Lennon have provided the crosses for Lukaku. Although the fullbacks have played a greatly reduced role in attack, the defence has proved much more porous, leaking goal after goal. Martinez has not shown the skill to produce a team that plays well with and without the ball.

Martinez has taken a struggling team to Wembley once before. Perhaps he will do it again.

I can't understand how you think Martinez didn't benefit from the defensive set up he inherited? Just look at the lack of cohesion now and contrast it to back then.

Baines and Coleman were the best attacking full back pairing in the league before Martinez came, it was never his idea to start using them as a focal point of our attack. Take a look back at Moyes' last home game against West Ham, Martinez basically continued that style with the additions of Barry, McCarthy and Lukaku which doubtlessly improved us.

Literally.
Shameful that. Nothing warrants defacing Goodison.

Never will winning the fa cup come with such a price. Football is mad though ye just never know. I could never imagine wanting a manager out.even after winning the fa cup. I'll 100% agree he should get next season if he does but it doesn't mean I want it.
Why cant we win the FA cup and sack him (In fact we will have a better chance if we sack him before the fa cup semi) he should be judged on overall league consistency not cup runs against lower opposition. I cant believe any right minded blue actually wants him anywhere near the next league game.. SACK HIM TODAY!!!!!

I want him gone.now aswell but I do think he's going to get a chance to play the semi. And for sacking him if we win it. Even do it would be for the best, I just can't imagine any club sacking the manager after a fa cup win I can't imagine it even though it would be the right thing to do.
