There may be something wrong with our defensive organisation but we were going to need to rebuild and reinforce our squad defensively. Moyes had taken his eye off the ball massively in that respect.

Baines had arguably his best season ever in Moyes last year and Coleman was excellent too. He also signed Stones.

I agree an online petition is a bit much.

I was more meaning a protest via a banner/message of some sort would be acceptable at least. Not sure I like the idea of an online petition about it. In fact I don't like that.

...given the MOSH has an accountancy background one would assume he's quite methodical. I reckon he'd appreciate a big massive list.

Whereas the plane & banner, well, he'd prob just go 'Ooooh, what does that say... (FUMBLE FOR GLASSES)....oh...oh, it's gone, nevermind...'

Then he'd just carry on sucking his sweet, stopping occasionally in order he stifle the giggle that now arrives quite naturally every time he thinks about NIASSE's 'pass' at OT on SUNDAY...

Definitely arguable. Baines seemed clearly effected by speculation towards the end of that season and was definitely not himself by start of following season. Coleman maybe unfair to say he was dipping but his first season under Martinez was great going forward and again I'd say speculation has probably effected him but there's been no competition at right back from way before Martinez time.
