It could be argued that we had a decent player in Naismith, and have replaced him with one more expensive, less capable and not currently fit - however he's not had that much of a chance it must be said.

If not yet a mistake, certainly not yet a successful decision either.

Naismith wasn't getting a luck anyway so not a mistake as of yet. And price we got for a player knowone liked anyway was brilliant

I think you are either missing the point or being very forgiving.

It wasn't the fact that he came in to bid for our players.....it wan't even the derisory offer.....a BOGOF deaf for Baines and the big lad.

It was the sheer arrogance and hypocrisy of the man which stunned us and et idea the good will we retained towards him.

He said "if I was still at Everton and a player got the chance of a big money move to better himself I would never have stood in his way".

(not verbatim)

Oh really?

He cried the house down....righteously as it happened.....when City pulled a similiar stunt with Lescott..

He stood in his way so much that Lescott eventually downed tools to force the move.
I am not missing the point, and I am not very forgiving. Whatever he did was no different to any other half decent manager. Once he joined united he had no lasting loyalty to Everton, that's how it is in the real world

Just had a thought, in Dalgliesh' last full season he got to both Domestic cup finals and was sacked, in Rodgers last full season he got to both domestic cups semi finals and was sacked 3 months into the next season.

A little bit of expectation and confidence in the clubs name/Moto is needed.

On the one hand I like the fact that we give our managers more time and allow them to build despite results, but we do seem to do it to excess. Rogers fall from grace was very swift and they didn't give him much time to turn it around (not that I think he would of done, just an example), but it's worrying to think that if he was our manager he'd probably still be here.

We need to find a sweet spot between chopping and changing managers, and just letting a bloke turn the club on its head with no pressure and expectation from above.

Because You all loved Naismith didnt you. And was begging Martinez to play him more and saying please don't sell him?
That's not what I was saying, what I'm saying is as things stand I'd personally rather have £5.5m and Naismith than Niasse. As things stand but that's just my opinion and I'm not stubborn so if Niasse gets better then good on him and that'd be great for Everton.

Even if Martinez was sacked at dawn it'd only be 1 sacking in 14 years, I doubt anyone would have us as 'choppers and changers'

2 poor seasons is more than enough time, sadly Kenwright thinks he's a great manager, let's just hope Moshiri has more sense.

Agreed, Naismith anyday over Niasse on current form. Niasse looks like a fish out of water I hope he gets better or he could be Martinez`s `Bilyaletdinov`
Naismith always put a shift in and was a great example giving away free tickets, you dont see any kopites doing that !
