But will he have? We will lose one may be two of the spine of the team because of poor league form. Removing them will essentially put the team back to square one and therefore there will be yet another excuse why we are struggling in the league.

Will you happily take a cup if it sent us down next year?

All clubs lose players. He replaced Fellaini, Anichebe and Jelavic with Lukaku remember.

We won't lose Deulofeu or Barkley. I can't see who would buy Stones.

He'll have the money from Lukaku and Moshiri's wallet.

I don't believe he will relegate us. I personally believe if we win the FA Cup it will push us on a level.

Because he will have achieved more than what his predecessors since 1995 have done. In 3 years.

mate fluke cup runs have happened before with other teams, overall its nice for us to win the cup no doubting that, but if its then used as a shield to disguise the last 76 league games form then its wrong

been listed here before but in both cups we have played one PL team at full strength in Chelsea in both cups, Norwich played a reserve side and we needed pens, boro played their reserves etc, which has happend with a couple of other opponents as well - Bornmouth i seem to recall made like 7 changes to their normal starting 11.

That Chelsea game gets talked abolut as a great performance and a sign of how we can maybe turn the corner, honestly though we where about 3 inches from Costa putting them one nil up in a game we had created absolutely nothing in till that point, cue a wodner goal from Lukaku and we are buzzing and in the semi. But it wasn't by any means a greta performance against a Chelsea team rock bottom on confidence who'd been knocked out the CL 3 days earlier.

Was thinking that myself. Wonder if the board are mulling over the sack, instead of sacking him, would they just give him the option of resigning.

In the business world there would be an optimal scenario where he resigns amid press speculation of Moshiri wanting to bring in 'his' guy (whoever) - Roberto moves on to the next mid table struggler, EFC get a new lease on life with a the promise and honeymoon of a new boss which keeps some of the wantaway players in place, attracts a few new signings and gives us a 'first season' boost for next year. Momentum regained.

You make it sound all too easy mate.

when we had the now famous "what a manager" quote, in the same sentence he said something about him being under pressure through the week.

Moshiri didnt flinch when he said it, am under no illusion that they know whats going on and there was a bit of showmanship from Bill in regards to "his man".

I thin the board have a bit of a grasp on whats going on, and will be evaluating it - problem is that bill will continue to back him regardless unless we do go out the cup.

The cup win or loss should have no bearing on his job imo - he has under performed for the best part of 2 years.

Interesting about the attendances. I suppose I was only starting to go regularly so wasn't able to compare it. Attendances seemed much more up and down generally then though. Still squirm at the ill judged 'get down to goodison' campaign.
How would you feel Martinez could communicate what his motivations are at the moment a lot better. Must be so much lost in translation that's going to be seen as excuses.
As a side point, what was really weird to me was how I remember the fans reacted to Mike Walkers stint. Very different to both Martinez and Kendall I think.

English is only his second language but I don't think that's really an issue mate, he's married to a Scot, who more or less speak the same language after all.

It all feels a bit like the end of Harvey's reign to me. Obviously we're not in any danger of being relegated, but everyone loved Harvey and desperately wanted him to succeed, but a change was needed.

I think Moshiri has had his own man in mind since day one. Bill is a showman and will do what it takes until then.

Not so sure he probably come in with his own man in mind, he might have am guessing there - the one thing is they won't be so blind that they don't know whats going on, the amount of #martinezOUT posts their twitter gets each day must be a little concerning!

But, like we say bill will continue the show to back his man until its impossible to do it anymore.
