It won't take 40pts to stay up this season. Nowhere near imho.

I think your right but just goes to show how poor we have been

Likely to have a poorer season then last season and at the start of this season I would have never thought this would happen with the squad we have. Those who are pointing to the cup, yes silverware is nice but what good is winning the cup then embroiled in a relegation battle next season which seems likely if we follow the pattern the team is taking with this manager.

Fat lot of good the cup did Wigan didn't it

They got it into the full back position, crossed, scored.

See United yesterday
West Ham (home)
Leicester (home)
West Brom (home)

Inexperience?

Yesterday you've got Lennon, Coleman, Baines, Jagielka, Cleverley all in the side. McCarthy must have, what, 6 full seasons in the Premier League. Lukaku has three, much the same as Ross - and both have more than 20 international caps.

So really, you've got the captain of the Spanish U21s Del, John Stones and Robles. Or three of the 11.

Two things

  • He's not really using that squad to the maximum anyway making two subs a match - one in the last ten minutes when we are losing
  • Nobody is forcing him to spend £13.5m on an inexperienced player from the Russian league who, and let's be kind, is taking a fair amount of time to adapt

I'm loving this inexperienced thing, scratch my head each time thinking who is inexperienced

Whatever your personal opinion is on Martinez, whether you like it or not - this season at least - he is not going anywhere.

That might all change this summer, albeit probably not if he wins the FA Cup. Don't see how you can sack the man who's brought the first success for 21 years to our trophy cabinet.

I don't see how anyone can be satisfied with the way this and last season have gone, and as a match-goer I'm as sick of it as anyone but we might as well get behind him while he's here. The negativity has a genuine effect of the performances, and just makes it a horrible experience for everyone. I dread going at the moment and the manager, the coaching staff, the players and the fans are all part of why.

I'm completely done with him. Thinking of selling my semi ticket I'm that fed up. I can't see how he's gonna change now. He's 'tried' all season, and last, and it's getting worse if anything. Can't be arsed forking out hundreds of quids to go to Wembley and watch us get our arses handed to us.

40+ yrs I've been going the game. Home, away, Europe, pissing down cold winters nights at Plough Lane. I've done it all. I've never been this disheartened before.

Sort it booby. Last chance saloon is open.
Whether you get another drink is up to you...
Not many Evertonians call him Bobby now, quite right it is the last chance saloon, once the Martinez out banners appear, I think we will be approaching the end,and good riddance.

I think there's always going to be a glass half empty and half full view of whatever happens for the foreseeable future.
Man u are not as formidable as they have been but it's still a squad that on paper should be competing for the title. The player considered our best by a lot of people three years ago is considered a liability there. And even when United were under the likes of Atkinson it was a really tough place to go and get anything. Still is this season. I nearly always feel we can win but never expect to at Old Trafford.
Every independent source has said we should have got something.
So to my eyes they didn't create anything because we were a lot more solid in the middle and at the back. We didn't give them space where we thought it would hurt us. And there was some great recovery play. One strange moment apart we were as good as we ever were under Moyes defensively.
Problem was that the one area that we usually thrive in we looked flat. This is an area we need to shake up. Our squad is still short of in depth quality, it was an ageing team three years ago and now it's inexperienced. It's being rebuilt and in my opinion and we won't be good enough under anybody to challenge until there are three or four more players at optimum age either coming through or bought.
Problem with analysing it in anyway now is that every bad result is lumped into an argument that says it's not good enough and it's Martinez causing it. The danger for me in doing this is you gloss over everything else. You create a mood of hostility towards one person that means nobody else needs to take responsibility. And you potentially undermine any positives.
If people on here can't point out what they saw yesterday, even when it fits pretty closely with what independents sources say without being told it's all the same excuses, then it doesn't feel healthy to me.
I'm happy to change the manager but when the mood generally is frustration I'm not sure it's ever the best time. I'd rather we were looking at it from the position that things need improving results wise and that needs adjustments all over the club but not huge changes. Maybe the manager might be one of the changes at some point but let's see if an ideal candidate emerges further down the line.
Great post OB, how forum discussion is supposed to be, the match just had the same old feeling. Yes individuals made mistakes, but it's a reoccurring theme, and has been unfortunately a hallmark of Martinez’s management, hence the calls to go.

Of all the lines of debate this one has to be the weakest - especially when you consider that when this squad WAS inexperienced - 2013/2014 - they actually performed better lol

All of them bar Robles,Stones & Deulofeu have gone to an international tournement with there national team!

You would think it was inevitable now mate (even 'if' we win the FA Cup). This league campaign has been very poor. From August to November we were moaning about too many draws. Since then its been defeat after defeat (especially at home) with a 'few' wins thrown in.

No noise from the club tho as usual proper grates me! But surely he's getting sacked in summer regardless because he's not getting moshris money to pee it down the drain

We're all just livin' la vida loca with Bobby at the moment
