Seriously, you can go and play Fifa rathering than insulting another poster with the abovementioned phase while this is a free world and you can always express your opinion as you will.

You may be 30 sth but never able to grow up like an adult. Just accept people can have opinion which is different to yours.
Never played FIFA, champ manager or any of these games. I'm also not 30 something but I'll let that go and accept the compliment.

He can lose them all. He will keep his job. He will also be given money to spend, lots of it, in the summer. Accept this and get behind both the team AND the manager.

It's this kind of negativity that drains the life out of the players every time the step foot onto Goodison.

It's delusional to blame the crowd!!! What are they supposed to do? They are treated to pitful performances week in week out, bar a few exceptions. It's not easy to just forget last week and move on. If we keep losing games both players and fans will feel the negativity!

Here's my point: Everyone bar...well, not barring anyone, actually...midweek accepted Martinez is here at least till Christmas next season...then we get another loss and there's people convinced that is it, he's going either now or in the summer.

You can see how no one could take these people seriously?

Obviously you do because you seem to spend all of your time arguing with them on the forum.

so basically dave if we went on to lose every game this season thats left in the league and manage to win the cup, you'd think that was fine and martinez should keep his job, simple yes or no answer mate, no caveats, no first season bollocks or 60 points new target etc, simple yes or no?

That would be obviously fine. Because the league doesn't matter anymore.

FFS, anyone who doesn't think us losing all our remaning league games and winning the fa cup would be the best thing to happen to this club in over 20 years doesn't understand football.

Yeah, but people were far more optimistic after last week against Chelsea. No calls for his head, toys firmly in pram. The hysterics that follow every defeat are ludicrous. No doubt, all his eggs are in the FA Cup, but there's certainly no reason we can't go all the way in that under this manager

Dunno, can only speak for myself, but this was my thought before the Chelsea game.

My viewpoint on Martinez won't change regardless of this one result. We could win 3-0 and still limp out in the semi final.

I think why people are placing emphasis on this Chelsea game is that for the many who are wavering, the FA Cup remains the only way Martinez will win their confidence back, and if we crash out there will be mass calls for him to go at the end of the season from the vast majority of fans who are sick of him.

Personally, I couldn't give a toss. Martinez wins the cup, he buys himself time (three months or so probably until the new honeymoon period runs out), but one fluke cup win in the midst of a turgid season would suggest nothing to me beyond that the guy is lucky in the one off games but generally clueless at getting consistent results were it matters - and that's always the league for me.

Nothing changed after the Chelsea game, and nothing changed after today.

I agree completely with the hysterical reactions both ways, and the way this "poll" swings is just hilarious.

Boxing Day 2013 - a victory over Sunderland and we would have gone a full calendar year without being beaten at home. Osman and Howard fanny about with the ball, we concede a penalty, Howard gets sent off, and we get beaten, and we've been broken at home pretty much since. There's been odd good or great results, but they're becoming a less and less frequent high point in a series of defeats. We've now gone almost a full calendar year with only 4 home league wins.

I said a couple of weeks ago that despite the false dawns, I wanted to give him time and to do better, however it's one false dawn too many now. We've lost twice as many at home this season as we've won. I've given him every chance, but I can't support him any more. He maybe deserves the Wembley game, but any more defeats between now and the and that should be curtains for him.

Since palace came and beat us in April 14, we've not had one decent run of form. 23 and a bit months.

It's not knee jerking. In fact the horse has bolted into the next county by now.

Said before the game even if , and I hope we do win the cup, he has to go ; he isnt developing anything , a list of good players on paper doesn't make a good team, we arnt the record shows that and we are not improving.
I would sack him right now , he is out of his depth , mike walker mark 2
He has had enough chances time to go.

Same here. I hope he goes in the Summer. I've been saying for a few weeks that I'd happily see him sacked now and a caretaker to be appointed until a real manager becomes available. A caretaker couldn't do any worse, and could actually give us a fresh impetus to start repairing some of the damage.

Anyone still in the pro-Martinez camp seriously need to see the bigger picture. The footballing media are questioning him and leave no doubt as to where their opinions sit. This 'we are developing' stance the pro-Martinez people are preaching is laughable. Developing from what? A consistently top 5-7 team into a consistently lower half team?

We have lost 8 games at home. We are shipping goals for fun. Martinez blames the Goodison crowd, never himself. He never takes responsibility. We are heading in one direction and that is down and the pro-Martinez guys need to wake up, and fast.

The Everton crowd have always let their team know when they're playing bad, that's an awful excuse, passing the buck.

Dave there's a button up there that lets people change their vote.

The numbers who wanted Martinez out didn't change post Chelsea.

You might be happy with the odd win but most of us believe we are capable of better with the right man in charge

I would like to see him stay but moved sideways, head of player recruitment, let him get on with
spotting talent, he seems to be ok at that

rubbish mate, suppose we where to blame for both walker and smith failing as well for being too negative towards them.

a manager who has the worst record at home defensively in europe, who cant motivate them for the bread and butter league games, but the team sems fine in big atmopsheres in the cup - maybe when they dont need the manager to motivate them or get them up for it.

Manager is a joke mate, blaming the fans when the fans react to what they see on the pitch yanno, too much fannying around, no passion and a manager who has no idea how to get the team to get the crowd involved by setting his players out to give them something to cheer - anything to cheer...
