I was 18 and the ZDS final was my first trip to the twin towers and my first disappointment there.
Luckily my next two trips there in 1995 more than made up for it.

I think that the competition introduced following the European Ban was actually The Screensport Supercup wasn't it ?


that was cack as well. I think in 1 of the seasons the final was even played during the next season as well.

No mate,league cup,lost 1-0 at Goodison,I think that hobgoblin Houghton got the winner.

Went to every home game in all these "other" cup competitions and both finals..

It was the greatest Football competition in the world and the 91 final was the most memorable occasion at Wembley since Nobby Stiles took his teeth out. Incredible scenes as Geoff Thomas, Bright, Wright and Salako tore into.......
Not sure I should be posting on this thread actually lids.
Anyway, it was a bit embarrassing. My youngest lad (the Evertonian) was too young to go and my eldest (Palace) was so bored he burst into tears when he realised there was extra time.
All a bit naff and invented by Noades and Bates to ..oh I can't remember now, but anyhow WE WON, WE F*****G WON!!!

For my sins I just rooted these out..... £13 for a Wembley ticket !!!
Looking at the palace line-up again they had some (future) half-decent players - shame they flogged most of them.

Didn't even know we were in it until I saw the backpage of my grandparent's copy of The Mirror and saw we'd lost 4-1.

It was that result and the 6-2 defeat to Villa on TV that showed me we weren't the Everton of the 80s anymore.

The 6-2 game against Villa really rammed home the feeling that Everton were going to cause me so much pain, remember looking so forward to seeing us on the television (big thing those days) they absolutely battered us.

I should have just jumped ship after that

The Screen Sports Super Cup was a disgrace. We were made to take part in this farcical competition (trounced by Liverpool in the final) when we should really have been competing in and probably winning the European Cup. Effin disgraceful.
