beating Blackburn away 4-1,cos it was a new ground at the time,
milwall at home lowest attendance for a senior game,i think only the gladys st and main stand were open.
the finals were crap,
cant remember much else
We went in my mates car in 91,it had no MOT,no insurance and he didn't have a license

Couldn't get a coach anywhere

I remember really low attendances and away followings in particular. I'm sure charlton came up to Goodison with about 15 away fans.

The final against Forest was a red-hot day if memory serves me right.

It was roasting and forest filled their allocation pretty much

I didnt go to any of the games in these competitions ,why would you?.The competitions were to replace European football where we should have been dining at the top table.
Heartbreaking really

Didn't even know we were in it until I saw the backpage of my grandparent's copy of The Mirror and saw we'd lost 4-1.

It was that result and the 6-2 defeat to Villa on TV that showed me we weren't the Everton of the 80s anymore.

It wasn't really brought in to replace European competition, that was the screen sport super cup

the full members cup was a new competition designed for clubs in the top 2 divisions who were classed as full members of the football league

Fair enough mate Im mixing them up, both crap cups though
Oh yeah your right there mate

the screen sport super cup final was played the season after the group games(five of rush's derby goals in them finals)

If there was a waste of time competition that was it

Remember us doing Leeds 3-1 A.E.T in the semi-second leg - no mean feat back then

Yep, I've mentioned it a few times but it's actually one of my favourite Everton games. I think I was about 12 years old, basically missed out on watching Everton win anything as I didn't start to go the matches until I was about 9 turning on 10.

I loved that match and I was buzzing when we got through and was hoping to go to Wembley but had no one to take me. Listened to it on the radio ( think it was 2nd half commentary and extra time ) to listen to us get pummelled in ET.

There was only about 14k at that Leeds semi final but they were a bloody decent side then, I think Cottee bagged a couple and the atmosphere was decent considering the size of the crowd.

I simply just love watching Everton win, regardless of the competition they enter or even if it's a friendly. Just puts you in the best of moods doesn't it.
