SerenityNigh

now you're gonna hear about it
I need your help to pick me a new band/musician, as my favorites are either retired or should retire (radiohead), dead (RIP MCA), or can't be arsed to reunite (The Strokes)*. Eagerly awaiting your crap responses.

*Still like The Strokes, but you can see how closely I follow music.

Aren't the Stokes bringing out a new album this year?

Hah, maybe so. I guess I should keep up with them? I remember reading that the last album they recorded at separate times because they couldn't get along, plus Hammond and and Casablancas are doing their solo stuff. Ok, so 2 out of 3 are/should be done.
They're bloody awful live.

Paid good money to see them, and they barely spoke, yet alone look arsed about being interested!

What about The Dead Weather and The Kills? They are good (not heard the latest Kills album though).

Or go through the Chemical Brothers back catalogue from the start!

I'm not sure, TKOL wasn't my favourite, but In Rainbows before it was stunning. I think they'll release something new in the next month or so (they've just announced a world tour today), I have pretty high hopes for something good.

I am definitely buying the new album and will gladly be wrong, but I can only produce so much unrequited enthusiasm and I've currently spent it all on Everton.

Perhaps these might suit you:

Motopony
Ambulance LTD
Django Django
School of Seven Bells (earlier albums)
Besnard Lakes
Bear in Heaven (highly recommend)
Tame Impala (which I'm sure you already know)
