I always regret that I can't speak a foreign language. I'd also love to be able to sing in tune.

Not with the teachers I had.Speaking a foreign language is a fairly easy to learn skill
Would sir permit a best buddy to kindly choose one for him?*Acquaintance*
You speak English which is technically a foreign language as you're from the Wirral so your first language is Welsh. Not with the teachers I had.
I thought that until I tried some dead languages recently (admittedly not spoken) came quite easy to me. Hated all modern Languages at school mainly because we were forced to do them and the way they were taught (even the dead ones). Took me years to get over it and give the ones I actually wanted to learn a go.Not with the teachers I had.
I remember the five minute French oral exam ( titter ye not ) I got as far as je m'appelle Summerisle and then a stony silence. Scarred for life I'm afraid.I thought that until I tried some dead languages recently (admittedly not spoken) came quite easy to me. So was I, the Languages I do have no oral part to them and I don't have to do the exams if I don't want. No real pressure anywhere.I remember the five minute French oral exam ( titter ye not ) I got as far as je m'appelle Summerisle and then a stony silence. Scarred for life I'm afraid.
