I think he has. By being so absolutely god awful he's made Joel look like the best keeper that's ever lived

If he puts in performances like he did tonight, he's certainly Tim's successor. Need a good backup keeper for him and the situation in nets is sorted.

i feel more like we need a new number 1 with Joel the back up at best-but feel better with his performances more and more at the minute anyway

I agree. Robles is good but we can do better.

Take Timo Horn from under the nose of Klopp.

Robles is easily good enough to be our number one though.

Pointless just going out and spending a lot of money when we have a player who can already do it.

Imagine he clocks off next season and costs us. Martinez would be pilloried for not having secured a top replacement for Howard.

yep,seen that link earlier,be happy with him,probably a bit much at the 8 mil but who knows what time will bring,whatever way we will surely get a new keeper if as it looks like Howard is going,so its if martinez thinks he needs a new number 1 or a number 2 to joel-lets see what way he might think

But that can be said of any player?

Imagine of rom clocks off and costs us.

Timo Horn, Ziegler etc (both i've which i've said i wanted in the past) could make mistakes too.

Joel can be just as good as either of them given game time, he's already proving that.

Joel as number one, experienced english goalkeeper as back up.

We need to have two first team GKs. I'm not having a go at Robles. I rate him as very decent. I'm just saying we cant afford to go with him plus an inexperienced younger #2.

Top quality in to keep Robles on his toes and fight for that jersey.

I like robles, i think he has the right build and right way of playing that a lot of the top keepers in europe have (not saying he is that at all, but with time, experience and games he could be)

I'd be more than happy for him to stay in, get him on a long term contract and get someone like heaton in to keep him on his toes.

Either way i say he is easily good enough because i personally think he is, but i think given the number 1 spot from now till the end of the season will prove to others he's good enough too, including yourself.

No I already do think he's good enough. I just want fierce competition for the position. If he starts every game for the next few seasons I'm chuffed. As long as he's doing the biz I dont care. But if he falters I want as top quality as we can get to step in.
