Roberto Martinez discussion

What will be too late for though mate? I just think there's little point in Jibbing him off in the season. The summer is a good time to review things.
The summer will be horrific.
Everyone linked with moves, all our players in the euros will be boss.

Roberto will do a pundit job and get pelters for ruining our pre season.

Sake.

The only reason for getting rid now is if any of our players were looking for a move in the summer then a new manager might change their mind.
You wouldn't get a manager to replace him though at this stage of the season anyway.

People should look at our results over the last two seasons. I accept before that he had a good run, that probably adds to his problems. We had a team capable of challenging for top four and now we feel good if we get into the top half.
Last year we won 12 games, this season we have won 8, we are on target to win 12 again.
I personally don't think that's good enough for Everton.
To point to the last three wins and use them to justify the manager's position is wrong. Judge him over the period in which he has been responsible. Last year I accepted all the excuses, 2nd season hangover, victim of over achieving in his first season. He deserved a third year to prove himself, he has proven himself to be limited. He has the tools at his disposal to be top 6/7 and we are 11/12 and get happy to be top half.
It is simply not good enough. I don't care how you dress it up but in the last 64 league games we have failed to win 44 of them. We win less than one third of the games we play, that is mediocre, very mediocre.
I want better.

Why should we?

I'm not bothered about last season - it's been and gone now.

I'm bothered about this season and IMO this season we have shown enough for me to keep my faith with Martinez.

Perhaps you are right. If only he would admit his mistakes, and try to rectify them, but he keeps making the same mistakes, and is so stubborn and tbh his back room staff don't seem to have any input,I would also like to see more passion from all involved, but it ain't happening.

They've gone to the third umpire and there's conclusive evidence to overturn the decision Aggers.

Seriously how was this a wk fest? I do not understand the point of taking things out of context so that he can prove an invalid argument. Could you please read #37592 and #37594 carefully which was the initial conversation, I said "Did I call for his sacking since the beginning of this season (last season yes i.e during 2014-2015 season I did)? I always said review his position in May 2016." And the idiot digged out quotes that were from summer 2013 and the lastest one was 3 June 2015.

Let's get this straight. Did I favour his appointment? No, I am not denying that at all. Did I favour him all along or change my stand/opinion week in week out? No. Did he prove me wrong in his first season when he got 5th? Yes. However, he is not doing himself any favour since the start of 2014-2015 season. I don't see why shouldn't I question his records since August 2014. 20 wins out of 64 league matches which is just dreadful and not good enough. This team is struggling to beat PL teams at Goodison in the past 18 months too. Now the main question comes, did I call for his sacking since the start of this season? No (oh if such post did exist, you would have read them by now). Last summer I was saying let's review Martinez's position in Christmas 2015. Now that Christmas has past and the results have not improved I still stand by my words. It is not good for the club to sack him in the middle of the season and he shall have the remaining league games to prove a point.

Martinez made great signings for this club except a few. Credit to him but the league results are very poor since the 2014-2015 season. People are not happy with 20 wins out of 64 league matches and are questioning his ability to turn things around which is understandable unless you think the league results are okay and finishing another season in the 10th or 11th position is some kind of progress.

His position at the club shall be review at the end of season. As of today, I think he is taking the club backwards based on the PL league table. I can be wrong. I was wrong in summer 2014 but not in summer 2015 and we shall see what will happen in summer 2016. You don't lose to the like of West Brom, Swansea and Stoke etc at home dude.

There's too many fans unhappy for there not to be some credit to their concerns mate.

Big remainder of season for Everton but I think he will be here in next season too as the new owners will want to assess his capability first before making changes.

Here's hoping in that time the team can put together something tangible in the way of progress.
