Roberto Martinez discussion

Maybe time to change our motto to 'Underachieve is the best we do' then? Just 3 of (far too many) points dropped this season, but it's alright, it' s what we do. Carry on as you were Everton!

'One of these days....'

Totally disagree. In any event, it's beyond both of us as we both know he's not getting the boot.

You totally disagree with what? The fact that he had one good season as Everton manager and has been dire since? Actually not sure if you are serious! You come across as one of those who have dug their heels in and even if we finished 15th you wouldn't admit you are wrong.

And just because he won't get the boot due to a largely inept board of directors in control, that doesn't mean he shouldn't.

I would still love to see him turn a corner, but I am happy to be vaulted with this.....he won't. If we went on a run of games now until the end of the season it would be a fluke and totally out of character if the last 19-20 months are anything to go by. He just hasn't got what it takes and has a weird loyalty to bang average players and players out of form. That in turn creates lethargy as others see this and know even of they under perform they will not be dropped.

Anyway, whatever...like you said he ain't going to get potted, not worth worrying about.

I've not dug my heels in about nowt, I just want Everton, and Martinez to succeed. Funny that, being a blue and all?

Let's access in the summer is a line I've repeated all day. If we finish 15th, there will be some serious questions asked.

At half time? We were laying siege to their goal mate. We didn't need to change anything at that point.
Laying siege yes, but were we actually threatening. NO. Lennon was the only player putting any real pressure on their defense, so why take him off to replace with a like for like. At a goal down at home against one of the also ran's in the premiership you should be increasing the pressure on their defense where you are having the most joy, i.e. Lennon (mirallas, gerry)

F..k hindsight. I said exactly the same thing to my son at half time. The game was crying out for a different approach, unfortunately Roberto could not see it

I think its taken him the best part of 20mths. and a lot of soul searching to come up with the few tweaks he has... not much going to happen in 45mins.

Getting in behind and then wasting it with a crap final ball isn't pressure... and it only got worse in the second half, Deulofeu on for Lennon was clearly the correct change... if you are going to take exception to changes then take exception to the abominations that were the other two subs
