Roberto Martinez discussion

Everytime you read a Tubey post you get this sense that you are reading a real authority, somebody who knows their stuff.

The tone is always quite assured and a bit arrogant, and hell theres an avatar of Space Ghost sitting behind a desk looking like a boss.

Then you read the content and realise you've been duped and the mind behind the profile likes to thrash Lukaku and Besic whilst praising Pulis and century-without-scoring-or-playing-well Jelavic....

Pulis did nothing special. At all. Pack your whole team in a small part of the pitch and refuse to come out to attack. Horrible percentage football that will sometimes pay dividends but is really just one big gamble in every game. I would imagine our players are not instructed to be slow and ponderous in posession either, so I wouldnt be having a go at our manager for that. Barry is his main man on the pitch and tried his best to keep us moving along and coming out quickly from the back. Lots of talking and instructing and urging us on. I would look to him to see what the manager is looking for on the pitch rather than an off colour Ross and McCarthy passing sideways/backwards too much in front of a packed final third.

Who won the game mate?

Because to me, Pulis set his side up that way, Everton did nothing to give him reason to do anything different, and he took the three points. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Martinez: "Our approach was just perfect it was just things outside our control that prevented the success. Credit to West Bromwich they done what they had to do but I couldn't ask my players for much more. The players pick up on the negativity of the stands and we have to work on that, both players and fans".
No chance

Diffence is us fans pay for the privilege of being negative Roberto

Games like that we need more players in the box rather than all outside playing sideway passes all the time with just Rom as the main target. Today we didn't seem to have enough in the box barring corners

This season is a right-off. I'd rather we sort the right manager out then send Martinez on his way rather than just sacking now and appointing the next conman that comes along.

Well we sure need to act quickly - at least we know where we stand now though. Today was his last chance, the black hanky is on the judge's head.

I've just done the predictor table, and I've been generous here, and from the following results...

Villa (A) WIN
Wham (H) WIN
RS (A) LOSE (whenever it gets played)
Sunderland (A) WIN
Arsenal (H) LOSE
Watford (A) LOSE
Man Utd (A) LOSE
Soton (H) DRAW
Palace (A) DRAW
B'mouth (H) WIN
Leicester (A) DRAW
Norwich (H) WIN

...we have this table, with 33 points sufficient for survival.

We finish on a "respectable" 53 (somehow!) but that is only enough for 10th. Nowhere near good enough and undoubtedly the catalyst for Rom's departure - ultimately proving that 2014/15 was far from a "blip".

And let's be honest, this is a best case scenario!

To be fair mate the fans are not enjoying the football at all.
I have never known the fans to be so nervous and boo the least little thing.
I think it is because they have had enough of martinez and can't see where he is coming from

You have to have other ways to get through the brick wall in goal. But there's not been no brick wall for all of 18months

Except we won 3 games in a row 3 nil up to today. Talking out of your arse like usual. Today it didn't go in. There's not always ways around brick walls, unless you're a kopite. Greece won a Euro doing it.
